Just an honest suggestion for a cool race car from Walkinshaw Racing with an interesting back story, another significant part of GT Racing in the 1990s.

Quote from Motor Authority:
The Jaguar XJ220 was the British automaker's ultimate road car of the early 1990s, but a handful of these supercars also raced at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. One of those XJ220 Le Mans cars is heading to a sale from auction house RM Sotheby's on November 19 at France's Circuit Paul Ricard.

This 1993 Jaguar XJ220 C LM is one of three that competed at Le Mans that year (a fourth car was also built but not raced). The race cars were prepared by Tom Walkinshaw Racing (TWR), which was also heavily involved in development of the XJ220 road car. TWR won Le Mans as the Jaguar factory team in 1988 and 1990 with the XJR-9LM and XJR-12 prototypes, respectively.

The racing version of the XJ220 used the same 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V-6 as the road car. This engine was also used in the XJR-10 and XJR-11 prototypes, so TWR had some previous experience racing it.

1st of all, well I how could I know? It popped up in google images when I was searching the car.

2nd of all, I couldn't find a website that WASN'T wikipedia that actually had information about this car. This was a hard car to find info for. Sure, there was Supercars.net, but that's talking about the ROAD version, which I wouldn't think would have the same exact specs at all. I also just don't like using wikipedia as a source all of the time, it just seems wrong to me.

3rd, this was one of my older post, I haven't made a standard yet of posting the specs in my suggestions. I use to simply figure that maybe if someone really wanted to know about the car, they could research it themselves. I also forgot that I made this suggestion, my mistake.

Funny thing is, the specs are not from wiki but from that site you linked to (Under "Specifications") :) Its a pretty reliable site for most of my requests.

I wasn't meaning to attack your posts, just was pointing out things.

Oh, I didn't see that part. :dunce:
Though, like I said in my last comment, this was honestly before I made it a standard in my suggestions to have the specs listed. I use to just leave a link and assume people would just read the specs there, but apparently noone wants to do that.

It did indeed win and did indeed get disqualified but the reason why was because of the catalytic convertors rather than the fuel tank. The car was designed to run in a class that didn't require them but the ACO decided that it did. It ran under appeal and would've actually been fine but apparently the appeal was lodged either too late or incorrectly and so it was disqualified for good. A massive shame and really, a bit of a shame that it only ever ran at Le Mans instead of in a series (the one off British GT test race before Le Mans notwithstanding).

The white LM race car in Gran Turismo is actually based on a real car. A modified road car ran in British club racing series by renowned XJ220 specialists Don Law Racing.

Here's an image of the real thing:

We definitely need the XJ220C and XJ220S to be included as I believe the S has only ever featured in PGR4 and that's about it.

Yup, I learned about this particular XJ220 race car a couple months back.

Didn't this car win the Le Mans and then have its victory disqualified due to its fuel tank being too large?

Not really, the car gets his victory in his class but would be later disqualified after failing the post race technical inspection.

Oooooh, really?? I smell..."sniff, sniff" Conspiracy!!

And to further add to the conspiracy, the car that was officially awarded the class victory was a locally-entered Porsche with an All-French driving crew... Anyway, voted for sure on this car, as the XJ220 LM already in the game is based off of the privately-built & developed Chamberlain Engineering car that failed to qualify at Lemans in 1996.
