Built off the second Jaguar XJR-16 tub and converted to IMSA Lights or FIA Cup specification with a naturally-aspirated engine and steel disc brakes, the newly-dubbed XJR-17 was intended to race at Le Mans in 1992 but in the end no funding was found (As the rather shady Alan Randall-backed "RM Motorsport" Jaguar project which had plans to run two XJR-14s as well as two XJR-17s failed to get off the ground after the factory and TWR pulled out of Group C at the end of '91). Thankfully, both this car and it's bigger, badder "Twin" have survived and are still raced from time to time.

While as ever, Gran Turismo games NEED more Group C & IMSA GTP cars (MHO), you can't forget about the "Lights" racers that bolstered the races throughout the 80's and into the early 90's (In America, anyway; The FIA stopped running a two-class structure for Group C after 1990)...
