After a bit of tweaking and tuning, the XK Coupe Luxury is an incredible track eater. Plenty of grunt on the straights, alongside with stability and good cornering ability, if a little understeer (easily cured with some Scandinavian flicks) - it makes for one beast of a car.

Try it out for your self - some British brute force. XK Coupe, a beast or a feast for other cars?

I was positively suprised by the XK. The old ones was big and unsporty. This one however feels a lot sportier and it even drifts properly. Definitively a beast.

I never really got used to this. 👎

Mbe I needed to tweak it a bit. The main letdown was the handling, however Jags such as the S-Type are a lot better, the have brilliant handling, hope they get into GT5.

I've always been a huge fan of this car, but then again I'm unashamedly biased. Not only does it take the cake as one of the most gorgeous cars ever built (the DB9 looks podgy by comparison), but it's got a soundtrack to set hearts on fire.

The real issue with this car though was that it was too heavy for it's own good (1600kg+) and still used the old transmission and engine combination as the XK8 did ten years ago. But underneath lies a very capable rear wheel drive car, it's just a shame that it can't compete on equal footing with other cars in its class (300hp club).

I'm seriously looking forward to the new XKR with the 5.0 litre new gen AJ engine - 500bhp in a car this sexy?

I think the Corvette, California, Viper and Aston will have some serious competition on their hands.

;)

It's also great racing this car online. I rarely come below 1st in it unless a disaster happens, and it just feels good surprising everyone. Once I even heard somebody through the mic say; "XK Coupe? No chance!". By the end of the race I had an 11 second lead on the person in second place. :)

This is also very easy to drive, hence consistency is also another good weapon in online events...

Anyone from the SCR team will tell you how well this car drives after last week. I don't know why a thread has been created for one car though.........

I assume you were using Skype or Teamspeak for this?

its a great, fun car to drive and a bit of a sleeper, but the main problem is its grandads version an not the XKR

This car is such a surprise. Made a tune just to get it stable and am doing 2'20.xxx around suzuka 550p. Its not fast enough to keep up with the good drivers in clios but its fun to beat those who drive the clio thinking it can beat all with no skills.

Now id just wish all clios would be banned from online racing as it gets real boring going into every race just to find a field full of clios.

I've been a long-time praiser of this car on this forum 👍

One of the few cars I feel I'm really on the edge with while being enjoyable to drive and fairly competitive - but not extremely so. This along with the F40 and the Viper are my all-time favourites to drive in GT5P.

But, I do miss not having a lighter or beefier version such as the afforementioned XKR. Bring on some sportier Jags! The weight of this one is what lets it down massively, if it was just a little bit lighter it could compete better in the corners.

Beast definitely. The stock HP it has is 380, which is a BIG amount. For a sports car, at least.
