Damn why did they take this car out of the GT series :(

I've had mine about a year now and its only did 25 miles :D, I got it with the intention of fully rebuilding as I believe there getting rare now and have a good following. Things have been going slower than I thought though due to unforeseen circumstances :(

Anyway, here's some pics, probably not to everyones taste but I like it :D

When I got it, typical granda spec :D

Then I got another,

Engines new home :) 2.0 16V :D

And as it currently stands, not much left to do now, exhaust system, fueling and a bit of wiring. :)

Thats the short and sweet version, a full write up would take too long

I've also just bought a Toyota Celica Gen5 GT-R 4WS :D, not got any pics as of as its down in my works yard. I'll make sure to post them up when I get it here though :D

Not normally a fan of Corsas but you've certainly put a lot of work into that one, looks like a good swap. Bet it moves too.

I would have been very tempted to keep the grandpa spec looks, would have made a great sleeper...

I was very tempted but it still looks understated I think, I'm more of a looks guy than speed anyway if I'm honest so I had to do something about it :D

Are you going to run it in anything after it's done?
No its just going to be a road car mate, will only come out when the weathers good though :D, I'll take it to trackdays but no competitive racing or anything like that. I have the Nissan as my daily barge, takes a lot of abuse

The Celica on the other hand I've been weighing up the possibilities and I think that I'm going to track it, stripped caged etc, but again nothing competitive, just a fun track car that I won't be worried about crashing if the worst happens. Need to get it home first and then I'll decide from there.

Been busy at this again, gathered up the last of the bits I need

Changed the 2 coolant sensors, old ones had seen better days

So then I got on with getting it fired up, had trouble with oil pressure to begin with, turned it over on the starter motor for a while to no avail, so ponced about then I thought the oil pump may be air locked.

So I made a injector

And injected it straight into the pump

Cranked it over and the oil light went off almost straight away. Result :D

So stuck the spark plugs in and started up first turn off the key :), just need to sort the plumbing and exhaust now and it'll be almost ready for the road :)

So with that sorted I brought home the new project. Needs a lot of work but thats why I bought it tbh.

Few snaps ;)

Conversion hasn't been declared yet but it certainly will be once its done. I need to take it to an garage to get it professionally checked then they send a letter to the DVLA :), all will be legit.

Took the throttle body off and gave it a good clean,

Fitted the radiator and fan,

Spent a while on the engine bay stripping the loom off and re routing it and other things for a tidier finish. Took a couple of snaps of the bay, I'm still not 100% satisfied with it but its getting there, theres still some of the loom I want to hide but I will need to extend parts of it so that can wait for another day.

Painted the crossmember black as I didn't like the silver showing through the bottom grill.

And got a GSi bumper for the front :D, needs a repaint as its got some marks, should look good when all done.

Heh, you couldn't really call yourself Irish without owning a Toyota, could you? Seems to be a rite of passage...
