I read a loooong time ago an article about GT (was a preview of either GT3, 4 or 5, sorry I can't be more specific) where it mentioned PD were recording engine sounds at a track day in the UK, and among the cars they were recording was a Jensen CV8. OK different model but I really hoped it would turn up in the game!

This car always reminded me of the old Mercedes 300SL...
Yes, some parts reminds about the 300SL :)

Yes, it was GT4, in GT4 Prologue there was a DVD with that track day on, there was plenty cars that I hope comes to GT some times, they was recording many of the cars too :) Citroën DS 23 for example . But they has recorded many cars that not has come to any GT game so far. :( Like the Maserati Spider 1998

Some extra information on this great car. In the late 1950's it was one of the fastest four seater saloons available. Equipped with a low revving four litre straight six engine, four speed plus overdrive gearbox and standard rack and pinion steering plus four wheel disc brakes (the first saloon to have these) it was the natural choice for the 1959 London to Paris race in which John Webb beat Stirling Moss by 28 minutes. Webb also battled on track with two time British Saloon car champion "Gentleman" Jack Sears coming second to him at Brands Hatch and beating a host of jaguars.

Above, the car still makes a great choice for historic race events and is definitely one which I would enjoy driving in the game - especially if PD could capture and reproduce its snarling straight six. NB most of the 193 cars were fitted with triple SU carbs, 53 had a twin carb setup. A unique feature of the 541 cars (but not the 541S) is the radiator flap - this is kept closed when the engine is cold to allow a fast warmup.

This video shows the sound of the similar 541 deluxe:

Thanks Sick Cylinder, interesting information and nice pictures :)

We need Jensen back in GT, even if it's a premium Interceptor again (SP please!). Metropolis Street Racer had their obscure last car, the SV-8, which is also one of the rarest cars I've seen in the flesh. But MSR was a looong time ago and it never made it to PGR, sadly :(
