JGTC cars vs. DTM cars

I like some of the DTM car's more than some of the JGTC cars and vice versa, but if it comes down to racing ability, the JGTC cars are a lot faster.

I like the DTM cars for style, looks and sound with relatively good performance, but the JGTC cars are faster and therefore a more appealing choice for racing.

Are they? I think they are about as fast. Sure, the DTM cars pack about 100 hp less than the SuperGT 500 cars, but overall, I think they are pretty equal.

The newer DTM car's have less than 50bhp less than the GT500's, but the GT500's in anyone's hands I've ever seen will lap any track faster, and noticably faster. Just beacuse the power and weight is similar doesn't mean the car's have the same track capabilities, the weight distribution and downforce on a GT500 car is a lot better than a DTM.

I like the old-school DTM cars (190E Evo II, etc.) and JGTC cars (Godzilla, etc.) better than the new-school DTMs and JGTC cars...and I like the old-school cars from each league equally.

...but I like modern JGTC cars better than the DTMs. Especially if it's a European JGTC car. ;)

My favourite racecar of all is the Denso SARD Supra, big, butch and loose (like my women...*cough*), but my 2nd favourite is the DTM 190E which is sooo subtle. These two cars are like chalk and cheese, but I love 'em both. Go figure...

Well, the DTM-cars miss one thing - MR-cars like the Garaiya or the NSXes.

Since I'm in love with the Takata NSX, i'll surely go for the JGTC-cars. It might be not as easy to handle like a DTM-car, but it's way faster and can compete with way stronger cars like the Zonda LM-car or the (new) Skyline-GT-Concept-LM-car as soon as there are corners on the track.

Try to do that with a stock Audi or Astra ...

JGTC cars is from what I think faster than many of the DTM cars. BUT, as the Mercedes enthusiast I am, I will still hold my finger on DTM :)

Of course the JGTC cars are faster than the DTM cars! They are both cool but DTM cars edge it IMO, largely thanks to the Mercedes 190E. The coolest touring car in the game (followed closely by the Alfa).

If you like JGTC cars I recommend the McLaren F1. Okay it's kind of a lot faster (though it raced in the JGTC in real life), but it has similar handling and is more fun.

The DTM and JGTC cars seem to be pretty equal.. with styling and handling. But the JGTC cars seem to be more "hardcore". And they also seem to be faster going around the track, So I'd choose the JGTC

Yes it did, and does too, but not in the spec from GT4. It had to be rebuilt to comply to JGTC/SuperGT rules, so probably more weight and less power for the Mac in Japan!

EDIT: I´ve done some testing now, just to see the differences. They are not great, but the JGTC car I tested was a little faster around a track than the DTM car I used.
This is how I carried the testing out: Cars: Nissan Motul Pitwork Z ´04 vs Audi A4 DTM ´04.
I used R1 tyres, and no powerupgrade besides an oil change, wich gave the cars 485 and 482 bhp respectively. No driving aids were used, but all settings were set up to my liking, wich is done to suit my drivingstyle. They ended up pretty similar by the way except that the Z packs a lot more downforce. Other than that, I used the trannytrick, just because I felt like it.
The testbeds of choice were Midfield Raceway normal, and Citta di Aria normal, with 5 laps at Midfield and 2 at Aria. At Midfield, the difference was pretty large, as the Z won by almost 2 seconds, with a time down at 1 min and 7 sec, and the A4 had a 1 min 9 sec time.
At Aria, the difference was smaller, only 0.6 of a second, but I may have done some mistake with the winning Z, so the diff may be larger in someone elses hands. Z time: 1´32.1xx and A4 time: 1´32.7xx
Conclusion: JGTC 2, DTM 0

But I still prefer the DTM cars!! Better looking, sounds cooler, and more fun to drive!

I'm a DTM person myself, with the Mercedes CLK being my favourite DTM car (I think it's my fastest DTM car too). The Audi A4 has got killer looks, nothing like the road going A4. I take nothing away from the JGTC cars though, they go like stink and handle great. DTM cars are more difficult to master.

WAR JGTC!

JGTC cars: the ASPARADRINK RX-7 and the 350Z are pretty good.
DTM: The A4 handles like a dream, the 190 Evo II gets my look.

But overall, I like JGTC cars better.

It's a toss-up for me. Lately I haven't been using GT4 for racing, more for Photomode and ransferring the pictures over to my PC; currently got nearly 1000. I'd start an album but there's uni wokr to be getting through.

Anyway, in terms of the number of photos taken, I've got about 250 JGTC and 150 DTM though I'm undecided in terms of preference - it's very difficult to get a race stacked with DTM cars in Arcade, mostly because there's only a handful of them compared to the JGTCs. I'm lucky to get two DTM cars in a race alongside myself; races where it's the '92 Mercedes vs the 205 T16 E2 vs the FTO Super Touring Car just look silly.

Plus, I'm also trying to get photos of each discipline of racing to make my collection more than one formula of racin so I've got JGTCs, DTMs, LMPs, WRCs, Group B rally cars, Formula One and I'm looking to do the lone V8 Supercar, Oreca Viper and Lister Storm separately.

So yeah, I'm a fence sitter; the kind of guy described whose feet don't know which way his mind will tell thm to jump until they land.

JGTC for sure 👍 they are faster and all 3 of the Xanavi cars look fantastic, along with all the NSX race cars....i have all the JGTC's
