What was once the Japan Grand Touring car Champion has now turned into the Super GT. Both have generally the same cars, often just older versions with more aerodynamic changes. Now, which type of japanese touring car do you like better? JGTC or Super GT?

I myself prefer JGTC cars. Why? Because they have alot more variety to them and it just feels good to have past veterans like the Castrol Tom's Supra in your garage.

JGTC, because the series format was much more interesting back then before they switched to to the dumb spec engine regulations they use now; so the cars are much more interesting as a result.

Exactly The JGTC actually had everyday street motors that were tuned to there respective horsepower class, and endurance specs. So for example the SR20DET was used for sometime even after the car it was made for, wasn't made for customers. Same for the RB26DETT. It was used in the 2006? 350Z GT500 car till the Regs changed, and then they used a lousy v-8. That car is in the NCD. Also it seem to noticed that when downshifting, it does not backfire at all. But back on point. The series is not as fun as it use to be.

And now, SuperGT is merging with touring car, so, ALL SuperGT cars will be regulated to FR drivetrain. No more nsx ):

I definitely miss the old days of jgtc, with supras and nsx, mr-s, id say circa '00, 01. awesome years.

NSX hasn't been used since 2009. HSV-010 was what replaced it in 2010 and has shown hondas continued dedication to the Motorsport.

JGTC cars are better looking. But I'd love to see one of these on the GT series

I know this is not a wishlist XD

I didn't know it was in GT2, that's cool. 👍

I hope it comes back to the GT series :)

It was the first time I'd ever seen one (or anything like it!), and I almost needed surgery on my jaw to get it to go back into place after it hit the floor. Extremely cool car.

I'd reckon that Kaz would like to include it in a future GT (6 perhaps) given his love of automotive history and the obvious pride he takes in Japan
s contribution to it. I wouldn't bet on it in GT5 as DLC though.

Note that the 2012 grid has Audi R8, Lambo Gallardo, Honda hasv and some Porsches...

GT500 was probably slightly better back then because it had more variety, but GT300 is definitely better now with all the variety that has now. Unfortunately PD is oblivious to both the Honda HSV-010 in this game and a chocload of GT300s so Super GT is not represented well in this game.

JGTC because of:
the PENNZOIL NISMO GTR '99 and
the Castrol Tom's Supra '00.
These two specific models are my favourite! :D
I used to remember the PENNZOIL GTR had over 700HP in GT2!
BUT
the SUPER GT series is pretty awesome too because:
it has the word 'SUPER' in it's name. :D
and they're running newer machines, Honda HSV-010, Nissan GT-R, etc...
SO
in conclusion, I love both! :D

Both are great on their own right, in JGTC you had cars more relevant to their streetgoing cousins and the racing was great. On SuperGT you have this amazing super high-tech laws of physics bending machines that look and sound so beautiful and the racing is still great!
