Well, I was fooling around in GTA3 last night, after starting a new game. I picked up all the packages, and thought, well since I'm doing this, I'll see if I can head over to Shoreside Vale and see if the D-Ice bug was playing up.

So I went back to my hideout, saved, and then headed over to the car showroom at Portland and 'borrowed' the Banshee (I may have also blown up some cars and some petrol bowsers with some grenades, but that's another story).

I went over to the Callahan Bridge, got past the barriers, and got out of the car and set up the 'flying cars' cheat. I used the same principles as flying the Dodo (i.e. hold the down D-Pad button, and release to let the car fly). The car wanted to fly quite quickly, so I cruised up to the hole, and then let it rip and released the down button.

The car flew very uneasily, and started to head towards the water, but j u s t made it over, so I was now able to cruise around Staunton Island - and the tunnel to Shoreside Vale was open, so I was able to cruise over and check out if the bug was causing problems (which it was :( ).

You're able to save on the other islands and use the garages when you get over there, too.

The other bizarre thing - I was blowing up cars with grenades outside my hideout at Portland, when one of the Peds who escaped from his burning car ran into my hideout!! Fortunately, I was able to aim at him with the Uzi and take him down whilst he was in there (try explaining that to the police).

I knew you could get over with the Flying Tank cheat, I'm just astounded I made the jump over the bridge - it was a real backside tightener there for few seconds, I can tell you!

, me and my friends figured that out back in december of last year

Well - thanks for taking the time to make this insightful post - I look forward to your other 'insights'.

As I alluded to in my second post in this thread I have been unable to fly the tank using this cheat with sufficient skill to be able to get it over the bridge (or indeed fly it). I was aware of the flying cars cheat, this was just the first time I'd used it - I was already well into the Shoreside Vale missions when I'd learnt about the cheat.

I've got an insight for him, Mr. Moderator. :D

You can jump it with slower cars than that if you get better at handling it in the air.

No doubt - it was quite 'bum-tightening' enough as it was, though...

Funny you should mention the ol' Sphincter-Contraction meter, vat. I use it quite a bit in real life to determine whether or not I'm driving too fast for current conditions. I think this may be what they meant by "flying by the seat of one's pants".

Had I listened to my arse a bit more closely I would have avoided a pretty serious accident a while ago. Let that be a lesson to you, kids. :odd:

On-Topic: I'll have to try the cheat a bit later. i haven't played GTA3 in the longest time.
