Just a little rant...

May I rant for a bit?

What the heck is up with NFS games these days?! Before it was pure supercars and speed. Now it's just turned to stupid modified cars. You know, the kind of Toyotas and Hondas that tear round housing estates at 3AM, with this silly glow under the car and bodykits that, as far as I can see, are only cosmetic. Need for Speed is far too good for this. NFS used to be about racing exotic cars in exotic locations (Ferrari 360 Spider and Island Outskirts II in Hot Pursuit 2 absolutely ruled). Why has EA suddenly gone off the rails?

If the next Need for Speed game is still about idiot boy-racing, I'm jumping ship to Test Drive Unlimited.

Money. Money drives everything. EA Saw the trend (fast and the furious etc.) and saw a goldmine. So they took their franchise and changed it into what it is now. Kind of sad really. Hot Pursuit 2 was great.

They saw an opportunity and took it, making a huge profit, but now they've just taken it too far. I liked nfs:u and nfs:u2 because of the new look and if a game's popular, make a sequel, but not this many. They just throw in one more feature, a few new cars and a slightly different storyline. It's getting incredibly boring now and EA need to think of something else, fast.

Why the heck did they have to make it out of NFS though? Why couldn't they call it something else? I'm going to send an email to EA. :grumpy:

EDIT: OK, now I'm just so angry I cannot possibly tell you. I went to the EA site and you have to SIGN UP for customer support! How dare they!

It was already an established and successful title which more or less promised them high sales because of the fanbase previous nfs games had created. If it's a new game, then there could have been doubts and the game could have been a huge flop.

i am a fan of the whole tuner modifying stuff from the new NFS games. i find the old NFS games boring because i'd do a race and apart from money and other cars, there would be no incentive. i mean i like modified cars, but not TOO modded if you know what i mean. big rims, some chrome, subtle bodykit, and window tints. NOT fluorescent green paint with stupid flame vinyls, and lots of wavy plastic side skirts, and rubbish spoilers.....if NFS make a new game i'd want them to concentrate more on the racing but no forget the modifying concept entirely. hah this was a lengthy answer....:)

I personally love the way need for speed is now. I found the older ones to be completely boring and pretty much pointless. Not everyone is totally into racing exotic cars in exotic locations. And I say, the more mods the better ;)
