As title says i just boughta logitech driving force. i dont know the correct settings, parts, tires etc. this is my first gran turismo game and enjoy it. If anyone can help it would be appreciated

Ill be the first to tell you the tune of the car doesnt matter much in relation to that wheel bro. Basically to start the car should have a diff, comfort soft or medium, no driving aids and suspension.

With the wheel you just got to get out there and play with it.

I stand by my G25 for racing but for drifting I went back to the controller. I don't have the time or patients to become good with the wheel.

well tuning wise and wheel wise there are a couple of old threads you could look through. I myself am a G27 user so my help is very limited

for drifting, put you wheel in the box and throw it in the closet, its impossible..... at least for me, the self counter steering of the wheels kills and drift you want to hold, very annoying.

I've been drifting since GT HD Concept, and i picked up a controller and after several hours i was drifting anything and everything with a controller. I spent the past 8 hours trying to drift on my brand new g27.... impossible.

If you are using a Driving Force and really want to drift with it, i have a tip. If you press Select, R3 & right paddle at the same time, the lock will cut to 200*... this makes drifting as easy as with a controller. As you get better with the 200* try going back to 900* and once you're arms get quick enough you will be a star ;)

P.S. You also have to do Select, R3, Left paddle to cut the FFB. If you don't the wheel will become all but un-turnable

Practice with driving aids off and comfort tires. Practice matter much more than set-up. I recommend just going to a big empty space and just practice catching drifts and seeing how long you can hold them. I drift with a g27 ,but i had a DFP before. I also would recommend a car with around 350-450 hp and about 1200-1400kg because they seem to be the easiest to learn.

OMG dude u just saved me lol. I was this close || to returning my wheel back to gamestop. I hate the 900 * rotation. I mean yea its great if u want a "realistic" feeling but I bought GT5 because its a VIDEOGAME. If i wanted to really drift, Id hop in the S14. Idk maybe its just me but when I buy a game, I want to play a game, not play real life lol.

OP, I agree with the comments already posted here, it just takes time and practice to learn to drift with a wheel and even a controller. Honestly, "drift settings" (I still laugh when I read that) is a personl preference thing, while i know it helps somewhat.

here's a video of me drifting with a driving force pro set to 200 degrees.

Personally its hard for me to get used to the 900 degrees because the countersteering feels kinda weird compared to real life.

Here's a video of me drifting my 240sx(video was taken in 2005 when our track was still open), IMO the DFGT/G25 doesn't spin fast enough like IRL when doing countersteering action (when you let go of the wheel). I don't think the motors and the gears in the DFGT can make the wheel spin fast enough, and it feels unnatural for me to "assist" the wheel when countersteering.

im drifting with g25..
my opinion is to set very hard the damper but very soft the stabilizer bars.
camber from 2,5-3,5 front and 2,0-2,5 rear and toe 0.....

tyre to begin feel the wheel control i suggest confort hard.. and keep it forever
i begin with all this settings and now i really feel the wheels best

Don't listen to the naysayers man, just practice w/ the wheel. I can't help but think that it's such a shame to submit such a beautiful game to DS3 or anything less than 900 degrees, save that crap for NFS or the like. It's like saying you "should"👎(as opposed to "prefer to" or "can afford to"👍) play w/ a 4:3 screen and Mono sound. Yes, it would be nice if the wheels responded faster(i have a DFGT w/ no complaints, but yes, i will be getting either a g25 or g27 someday). but just treat it as a sluggish wheel and give a quick toss when countersteering, if your FFB is set high enough(preferably to 10) it'll catch fine. truth be told you can't think about what you're doing, you simply have to feel it. i'm too embarrassed to post a vid of me and my cockpit, because for 1.) It's ghetto as hell(but effective). and 2.)my immersion is so deep into the game my body leans itself to semi-simulate the g-forces applied by braking and throttle inputs, as well as turns.(i really wanna get this zero gravity game chair i saw on Amazon, and modify it to accept a wheel to see what results from it.)

so how exactly do i set the wheel to 200*. Like does anyone know the exact process?

mrdinosaw posted how to set the dfgt to 200 degrees. I'm pretty sure you can do it in any menu.

I use a DFP, i've heard it works it works with DFGT but some have said it doesn't... so i don't know
