Just don’t like it

I have been die hard GT fan for long time... took a break For some time and I have to say after being approx 40-50% thru game it’s just terrible. The success rate is just nonsense. The lack of proper braking line just ruins the game entirely. Idk if it makes it too hard or what but I spend more time getting frustrated with entry and exit on turns than anything. They really should
Bring back the proper braking lines or just throw the towel in.
Anyone else agree ?

I'm confused. Unless your trail braking, you should get into the habit of always braking in a straight line, unless there's elevation changes in the line.. but that's a little advanced so..
Yea.. confused.
And in terms of bringing anything back, this is most definitely the most realistic physics engine PD has created to date so again... confused.

Do you mean the racing line where it used to go red in the braking zone (which changed depending on speed?) like they have in the Codemasters F1 series?

If you do, switch the cones on to help (2 is brake, 1 is turn-in or exit marker)

Stop using the braking line...

It determines the safest braking point. It is designed to be amaetur friendly, not to be the fastest.

I'm sorry but you need to practice and stop relying on that.

Ah yes that crap. I only used it on the Ascari Veyron nightmare.

Otherwise, no. Dont use that stuff. You end up relying on it.

Oooh, THAT line. Someone suggested the cones, I've used those on completely unfamiliar tracks until I get familiar with braking points. But as it was also stated too, it's really unwise to rely on those assists for too long.

I don't really understand the problem you are having, but it sounds like you are having trouble braking before corners?

If so, make sure that both the cones and the brake indicator are turned on under the driving settings. On approach to a corner you will see two cones side by side. Brake when you get to those. After the two cones side by side you will see a single cone on it's own. This shows where to start turning for the corner. Come off the brakes and turn in at that cone. This represents straight line braking, not trail braking. It's not fast but will get you around in one piece.

In addition to that the word BRAKE will appear on your screen in bright red telling you when to brake.

If I've understood your problem correctly then the above will help you considerably. Just know that the cones and the brake indicator are set up to make cornering easier, not faster. They are very conservative so your lap times will not be particularly quick, but they will give you a starting point and are certainly good enough to beat the pretty woeful AI.

If we've not understood correctly perhaps you can try and explain in more detail what the problem is.

Agreed. More options are better than less options. As others have said though - use the cones and stop using them as soon as you get used to the track.

Agree, cones and marker are good to learn but you can improve speed by noting your own braking points, like a shadow, a bridge a kerbs start, its painful on the beggining but after getting used it will be easy - and will work for all games.
