well a few weeks ago i started ordering parts for a new PC and the last one finally arrived yesterday :)
because this was the first time i ever done anything like this, from start to finish it probarly took me about 4 or 5 hours to get it all running smoothly without any problems. heres some basic specs

Intel Pentium 4 2.8ghz (running at 3.0ghz)
1536mb Ram (333Mhz)
120gb hard drive
128mb Radeon Atlantis Pro graphics card
Panasonic DVD writer

its not the most powerful machine out there but its more than enough for me, so am happy

hey congrats on the computer. I want a new dell or an alienware. dunno as long as its running at like 3.2 ghz, at least 80gb hard drive, 1 gb ram, least 512 graphics card. but im dreaming again. Those new Dells are suprisingly expensive! top of the line was like 3 grand when i looked! o well

Alienware is so expensive. You're prolly overpaying $1k just for them putting it together for you. But a good way to go if you dont know what you're getting into.

No, it's very true. Right now it's called the Tejas core. I'll take a good guess and call it the Pentium 5. The Tejas core has 64 bit instructions.

Don't bother with Alienware. They will butt rape you, they're systems are way to expensive. Dell has a XPS line of computers that are targeted towards gamers. They're slightly less expensive than Alienware, but I still recommend building your own computer, it is cheaper.

Yes, my new computer will be ready before November...I can't wait. :D
