Just got a wheel, which view do you use?

I know for full immersion, cockpit should be the go to, just wondering if there are many contrarians?

I've not a clue as I can't really use it until my stand arrives. Had a cheeky chuck but trying to hold a wheel between my knees and use the pedals was disastrous!

Bumper cam since GT5prologue, it will also give the best sense of all views on how the rear of the car is behaving.

Radar doesn`t help with Stuka`s, they are too far back for it to register when they start their attack!

Thanks, at least it won't just be me on bumper cam. Used it on controller since GT1. Will try cockpit but doubt I'll race like it if apexes are vague.

How do you correct it in GT Sport?

Cockpit view, without triple screens or VR, is anything but immersive. It just isn't realistic at all. (open cockpit cars, excepted)

With single screen, "Bumper" view is my preference.

With my triples or VR, I drive cockpit view in most sims.

^ this, wish the indicators were present in cockpit like the bumper cam has plus the radar being centered instead of on the right side, and a rear view up top since not all cars has a rear view (plus UI blocks rear view or dash video screen).

Bumper or cockpit, depending on the car. For some cars, I'm much more comfortable with one or the other. Try both and see what work best.

For example, the karts work much better for me in cockpit view. So much so that I still use it even though it has no mirror.

Hood cam for street cars, chase for rally. It is possible I will use cockpit in the future, although it depends on the vehicle. It seems that some cars have more restricted views than others.

Pause menu give limited options for seat position. Not true FOV unfortunately, but better than nothing.

I use cockpit view. I got a 32inch screen mounted right behind my wheel. I set all cars to -5 zoom, just wish we had proper FOV setting so we could use mathematical correct FOV but this will have to do. I tend to stick to cars that have usable mirrors because the lack of a virtual one and i have buttons assigned for looking left/right/rear and i have radar so spacial awareness is no problem.

Hood view online, offline hood and cockpit view(depending on car, some of the cockpit view is very good). Used to do bumper view but it is too low for me now on some tracks. I like the hood view better for awareness .

Nope. I use the rear view or gap times. If someone was behind me and is no longer than I can safely assume they are next to me and I pay attention so I know which side they are on. I don’t understand how people can be so bad with or without a radar honestly. I get it for the views that do not have a mirror.

Also cockpit view is terrible in hdr/4K that I can’t even deal with it. Also I would never ever use it in sport mode as it’s to restricting. I get wanting it to “feel” realistic but leave that for your own time and in lobbies. Play on what is best for the task at hand. I feel the same way about tcs. Sure, keep it off in lobbies and for qualification but not during a race. It’s not doing you any good gaining a few tenths of a second only to lose it all to a spin because you have someone making you nervous on your ass. You just end up slowing everyone else down and causing a mess

Camera is raised slightly and pushed towards the wheel as much as possible. We really need a true FOV slider though.

All rally sections (~ice skating) I've done with the controller and chase cam instead of the wheel and bumper cam.

Bumper cam only. I get the best FOV and the mirror is a necessity. I don't use the radar at all. I am constantly checking my mirror and the time gap so I always know where others are.

It's funny how the rally is just as much an afterthought as it was in GT2.

*Every* driving mode (well. maybe not chase cam) should have the option of a virtual mirror, why is it restricted to just bumper cam of all things?!
