Make sure you use the 5.08 drivers from Logitech, I've seen lots of people posting about getting weird behaviour from lower versions until they upgraded.

Settings wise, if you ask 5 people you will get 10 opinions on the right way to set it up. I would recommend turning off speed sensitive steering and keeping the sensitivity at 50% (linear) though.

Yes, there will be a lot of FUN with the wheel :)

Yup, wheels are VERY fun and immersive. Only thing i think you should know is that Shift diserves to lose the "F" in it's title, it isn't really very good to use with wheels, although I've heard the latest patch makes it a bit better. Compatibility with wheels isn't great. If you want to use it to it's greatest extent, try it in GT5P.

TIP: When you use shift with a wheel, assign the DS3 to port 2 or another, if the DS3 is in port 1 the game will take the input from the controller and not from the wheel.

If you're running NVidia, download the latest NVidia drivers (195 series). They definitely improve Shift performance. Also make sure you download the latest Shift PC patch too, of course.

Oh, and I agree the DFGT will be showed off better in GT5 Prologue, or DiRT 2, or one of many PC sims (rFactor, Race On, iRacing, etc...). NFS Shift just seems to feel a little disconnected and floaty, although the latest patch and NVidia drivers have made the floatiness somewhat less than it was originally.

I bought it USED off of amazon. Im hoping it comes functional with no problems... :)

Payed 60 bucks shipped for it. Condition was listed as good. I have an ATI 4890, the game runs flawlessly and i have a MOMO force steering wheel. I really just wanted to know what its like to have a wheel that turns 900 degrees.

Cant wait for GT5, I do have GT5P.. Ill give it a shot. The momo works with it, seemed fun just really wanted the DFGT.

Im excited, but the DAMN! thing wont ship for a while!!

One thing you are going to need to spend some time with is figuring out the best steering lock setting for you to use. Basically - what the real steering ratio of the car is, what degrees rotation you want to set on the wheel, and what you want to set as the steering lock in the car setup screen in the game.

Forgive the cached link, RSCs forum seems to be down at the moment, but check out:

Steering Ratio & Steering lock...

for one of the more straightforward explanations of what you're doing. Oh, the other thing is, I think Shift might use lock-to-lock as the measurement for steering lock, not centre-to-lock, so double it if it feels wrong.

I would recommend also rFactor and GTR 2 as an alternative to Shift, thats because those two games will Rock your Racing world much more harder than Shift. They are old but men ! After all those years this games are still on the computers of many many video game players around the World. Shift is only a temporary ...... a hell i don't remember the word.

What i want to say is that, You married to rFactor or GTR2 (or both) but sometimes you see attractive sexy looking young .... you know what :) so you want to spend just one night with her and then get back to your ordinary loving wife..s That's whats Shift is nowadays, attractive sexy looking new thing, or maybe only i am think in this way.
