If we all love the GT series then why is it in almost every thread I read negativity from so many posters here? No matter how much info or new features we find out about there is so much negativity that comes out in the threads? I just do not understand it! :grumpy:

'cause we are in denial...
... we are afraid to be finger-pointed as a Care-Bear group here...

Which is true since most of us here are nice and welcoming, but instead, we just embrace the opposite to show our macho side and pride... ;)

It's because this is the age of whining to get what we want from spoiled kids and adults. Plus, a lot of these guys ignore flaws in their adopted bestest best game evar. Like it's quite amusing for people who play PC sims to come here grousing about graphics, when their games look like early PS2 games in HD. Or Live For Speed fans talking about tire issues when LFS's own tire model totally craps out one lap or so past their pre-determined "lap life." No one seems to want to accept that no game is perfect, except theirs.

I agree Tenacious D, I still laugh a lot of people who come in and bash GT5 (that they did not even play physics) they mention GTR2 game that it has best physics.. Its funny how GTR2 game is so outdated now and well its funny how iRacing is so far best sim out there yet no one compares this to GT5Prologue which the two feel very similar in my opinion..

I always try to stay open untill I play the game. I don't get why people don't see damage in this TT demo and b$#&$ about it that GT5 wont have damage.. stuff like that seems how some people are very impatient now.

Long wait, limited info. That's what it boils down to. Once the game is out, it'll be a different place (I hope!)

Don't confuse constructive criticism for bashing, although we're all fans of the GT series, some of us can look at it objectively without googly eyes fanboyism, which is usually the view by kind of people who get all defensive even about the smallest of criticisms and in fact, if those kind of people were the only fans, GT would be much less evolved game. My 2 cents. ;)

I'm more negative about all these stupid threads than GT5

Do you ever actually post anything that contributes to these forums?

Or do you just sit and wait until someone post's something you don't like so you can come up with your usual reply about closing pointless threads?

As far as I can see, the guy's in here are having a perfectly reasonable discussion, everyone except you, so, you are a major hypocrite.

I think it's because so much is still unknown about GT5,features,tracks,customization.how the WRC/NASCAR will work, there's supposedly lots of features that need revelling.
I don't mind though,I see PD like Nintendo, they like keeping their cards close, but when ready they hit you everything.

The only person your kidding is yourself. The forum will flood with complaints of everything in the game which is wrong and I am pretty sure the game will be torn apart and absolutely nothing in the game will be right.

Does anyone?

Generally, it's just a consistent stream of "waaahhh, I want this and that and the other thing to be in GT5, waaahhh!". It's ridiculous.

You've got that right.

I guess the best thing for one to do is keep everything in perspective. When has a GT title EVER disappointed the hardcore GT fans? GT4 because it did not have online? It was still the most content rich GT to date at the time. GT5p? We should be so lucky to get a tie me over title. I did not even really appreciate GT until I got a G25 1.5 years ago. I think the mistake that was made was talking about GT5/GTHD when the PS3 launched. That got everyone thinking "oh its going to come out soon". When it truth at that point I bet you only about 25% of the game was actually completed. And even that was probably more SCE's decision not PD's. So what has PD done wrong? If I were to put the finger on anything it would be how they handle community relations. Kojima productions, T10, Bungie, and Insomniac all have community liaisons, podcasts, and actively participate in "forum talk". Even if they are not giving us specific info they are at least in contact. This is what is upsetting (IMO), not how long GT5 has taken to come out.

Roll this all together and you get the consensus answer. While I wait for my greens to cool... and how come it is the only time we get to eat whatever the heck we want is in our 20s?? I hate growing up... after this, I'm fixing sausage. Anyhow...

GT5 is taking forever

It's hard to argue that. I think even the epic Killzone 2 took more than four years to complete, and there weren't any tidbits along the way from Guerrilla Games. Now, is it a Halo killer? I'd say so, but then I don't think Halo is the best shooter evar.

However, you can apply the same thing to GT5. It's taking five years, minus whatever 12 month plus period it took to make GTPSP, and weeks for Prologue and its updates. Well, and then there's Tourist Trophy on top of that, done by a smaller team. Still, aren't we just about to explode every time we get a screenshot or video? GT5 is looking like it's worth the wait, almost like GT5 and 6 rolled into one game.

Polyphony won't communicate with the fans

Yeah, true. It would be nice if the various SCE branches around the world would have a liaison position hosting sites like Facebook, a page in an official Playstation website, and come here to pal around with us. However, can you imagine the suicide rate of that job?? The mods here have their hands full as it is.

Oh, and let's do discuss forzamotorsports.net, and the Nazi mods clamping down on those with contrary views...

Gran Turismo needs criticism, but the fanboys can't tolerate any of that

Well, yeah, Gran Turismo used to be the pinnacle racing experience on consoles, and even gave PC sims a run for their money for a while. But times change, coders get serious about capturing every aspect of racing they can in their games, and a few years later, Gran Turismo has trouble getting any respect in the PC sim world.

So along comes GT5 Prologue, and it's a huge, HUGE step towards simulation, and in my opinion gets it mostly right. Some things are still a little rough like sound and some low speed issues, and other physics aspects which could use a touch up, but I haven't touched my PC sims for quite a while now because Prologue makes them feel kind of... stale, bland and lifeless. It's more like clinical and technical, but Prologue feels very similar to both GTR and Live For Speed, and it has graphics and music that clobber just about every racing game out there. As good as Forza 3 is, I don't get that same feeling, and I'm really fed up with the bugs. GT5 looks to be a racing sim to even make the PC guys happy. Maybe.

However... this being the age of the hard to please human, Prologue and GT5 both are getting more whining about it than ever. Much improved sound is griped over. Graphics that kill just about every game out are slagged. Trees are burned to the ground. Oh the humanity! You name it, and napalm is thrown on it.

It won't stop, so I guess we'll just have to ignore it, play our awesome game, and leave the whiners to scribble naughty words in here.

Normally the biggest fans of something are normally also the most critical.

Bingo. The best fans are the most valuable because they analyze everything. The casual fans just pop in the disc to enjoy and relax. The real fan enjoys, but also looks for ways to improve! They give back input that affects the quality of the game. GT5 seems to be very evident of this.

Look at real racing for example.

I am a huge fan of motorsport and, yes, I do take a side in what particular team/manufacturer I want to win.

But I am not a hardcoer fan who lives, eats and sleeps a particular team and cries "cheat cheat" or "thats unfair" yadayadayada.

The world of GT is the same. Some people love Forza. Others love GT. Others love computer sims and the like. Me, I like GT but honestly have never played Forza. Never.

Why do we argue about all this crap? It's just human nature.
But in most cases the arguments are flared by the GT fans who wont take anything that goes against their favourite game. It's the fear of "GT is the best and I pretend to not care what you say because I am really scared that Forza will be better and I can't stand the fact that GT failed.

I just read a thread today that stated GT was being lazy and cannot match forza because it will never be as good if it doesn't have damage.
And it did not surprise me that that the submitters account name was Forza something

A lot of the negativity comes from the GT Elites who have this idea that the game should be played their way, & criticize others who want to see something different.
