Hey guys. =D If you enjoy Drifting in single player mode, why not come join kai and drift with others online on Xlink Kai! If you think your drifting skills are not up to par, then drifting online with others can be a learning experience! And if you FURTHER wanna BOOST your experience get TeamSpeak and communicate while we drift YO! All in all, We need people to come on Xlink Kai!

im NOOB to this kai and i have 3 questions

1.does it cost anything and how much to buy and even set-up kia

2. after i do set it up do i need anything else to play like a ps2 chip or stuff like that?

3.where can i get one?

It is a free download.
you need a router and cat 5 internet cables for ps2 and computer
no need for a chip this is all legit.
 
hmm... So is this some computer-god's fix to not having online capabilities for GT4? Or is this something set up as Sony's fix? I just decided to see what this was, so... If someone could explain this to me, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

xlink kai is a tunneling program that tricks ps2 into thinking it's in a lan

So basically you are playing a lan game over the internet...It is the only way to play with others from the comfort of your home.

Hmm.... I see. Very nice. So how does it work? I would assume you would plug the PS2 into a router and select LAN? Also, are there any risks involved in using this? I must admit, I'm interested now.

there are many threads within this forum that explains what you need to do. Search and read them to understand what is going on then join us on xlink.

It is a download that is free.
You open the program and find other gt4 players.
Chat with them....

Well that was interesting. Finally got on kai and did a little drifting with LayNLow and DKING. Let say its fun but honestly the lag feels like it hurts me more then help me. Reason being is the lag throws me off balance when it comes to cornering and counter steering. As for other things though you guys showed me what its like taking lines in drifting since i normally just always enter a corner at any line to drift.

Glad you had fun...The lag affects wheel users in a positive manner while it might hurt ds2 users...That is understandable...BUt dont' give up! It has been awesome seeing new people on kai...I encourage anyone to join in....This is the best we have till gt5!👍
 
well i sure want to and i have a internet cable and can play other games online
but i dont know how to actice kai and all that stuff:( im not so good at figuring out and my computer experience isnt that great at all im only 13 years old

Agreed, During the lag i could actually be more precise with my counter steer which greatly improved my drifting since i always limited myself to about 180 degree's and them some but never a full 360. After Xlink i practiced alot letting my wheel get a good 360 and hitting alot of good angle.
 
drifting in lag is easy, whoever asked about the ps3 dont try it lags alot when I use mine with Kai, so I cant play until I get my ps2 back.

where are all the drifters on a friday night??? probably out drifting for real..........lol im on kai now and ready to race...... whens a good time to catch people on???

depends on your network upload speed and the players you are playing...I find that pings 50 and under produce little to no lag and pings 50-100 with lag but acceptable...anything over 150 in my book is too high....If only Pal and ntsc synced...I could play with japan...
