Kaidou Battle for the US...

How are the battles decided in that game....I see a bar on the left side that resembles tokyo extream racer's SP battle bar... I hope its some new way of battling drift style...like you can decide to be a race drifter or exhibition..... as a race drifter you will be faster and thus lead and gain points like tokyo extreme...of course exhibition style should return you more points during your battle for drifting and thus is the reward for exhibition and sacraficing the lead to drift.

They are just like Tokyo Xtreme Racer. There're more than SP battles though. There're SP (Spirit points... dunno why) TA (Time Attack), CA (Similar to Project Gotham's Kudos), and CATA (both combined). Drifting is very difficult in the game. Basically on the last track, the handbrake is used throughout every turn at Dai-chi Iroha-zaka (watch Initial D if you want to know what it looks like). It's a fun game, and I'm happy that people in the U.S. can live what I go through every weekend night on the touge.

It is a really great game, but I really wish I could understand Japanese so I could read all of the BBS messages, and the Information messages, cuz I'm stuck at a point in the game in which I don't know what to do, and the next slasher won't show up.
 
LOL, yeah, with some research you'll find out it's definitely worth the $300.

$300??!?!? JEEZ they were sellin for $200 in china....works fine for my friend. nothin wrong with it

wow, ethikz showed me the intro to this game, it looked awesome, the cars could use a little more detail. but this game's something i'll really consider buying. ITS TOUGE RACING!
 
hell yah Ill buy this. gareented this is going to be better than initial d.

I just like the idea of the sp bar like tokyo xtreme.

you could go for a long time if both cars are twin drifting close together and taking turns being first.:D
 
The game looks pretty cool, but I don't think I'd spend $300 for a modded ps2, plus the price of the game just to play it. Oh well, GT4 will be out soon enough.
 
Wow this is cool. I was thinking about importing this game but I guess I dotn have a reason to now. I read on the Official Playstation Magazine website that they will try to include more cars than the japanese version and a house music soundtrack(not really looking forward to that) but I cant wait for this game to come out.

when they both release ill purchase BOTH. even tho i think kaido would just collect dust. :)

No one said I bought a modded PS2 just for this game, or touge racing games for that matter. The way I look at it, it's called 'make the most of your money'. Obviously you'll have to know the benefits of modding a PS2 as opposed to importing a Japanese PS2...

Also, by saying that GT4 will own any other touge racing game is a rather immature statement. Each game has its own innovation.

I don't see how that's immature...it may not be true, but that doesn't make it immature. To me, that's like saying one car is better than the other...is that immature? no

Some games are better than others, but inside each genre there are no games that will own any other game. GT4 is exciting, but it may be too unrealistic to some people, and choose to play Initial D or Auto Modellista. Personal perference is key.

www.modchip.com should answer all of the moded console question you may have... to buy one, just go to sell.com and find a PS2 with a resonable amount...

too unrealistic or too realistic? I never said other games weren't as much fun, all I said was that it wasn't immature to think that one game is the best..it's as you said...preference.

I love this game...
when it comes out buy it if you like touge racing...

anyways....Who do I contact so they can post up drift videos?
Or do i just post it here?

DMS3 is better i think
there's a crapload of functions u can do with it and u can update it by downloadin the update on their site, burning the update, then putting in the PS2. it'll install on the chip or something like that. it's crazie

This does work pretty well though, My friend got it on ebay for $9.00, and then proceeded to make fun of me after seeing that it is able to play all of my import, and burned games, because I paid for a mod chip. :banghead:
