Karma in an online race!!

Just thought I would share this story as many people have probably been through the same thing racing online. Was in the nations race yesterday and qualified 7th, 1st and 2nd took each other out on the first corner (even though this was an S SR race!) which promoted me to 3rd. Was in this position for most of the race until the guy who qualified on pole caught up, as he was obviously faster than me I let him through with plenty of room. He managed to catch up to the guys in 1st and 2nd place but getting past them was not so easy as both decided to play bumper cars for the position. Finally with a few laps to go he got past them and drove off into the distance (no idea how he was so fast but there you go). I managed to catch up with 3rd and 2nd who at this point were still punting each other off for the positions, 3rd went wide so passed him quite easily and as I came up to the first corner he decided to take the place back by ramming me off. As we went onto the final lap of the 8 lap race I was still in 4th but right on the tail of 3rd and 2nd, 3 corners from the end both had spent so much time trading paint that one had obviously had enough and they wiped each other out, this allowed me to take (a well deserved in my opinion) 2nd place and actually one of the best races online I've ever had!

So the lession here is: don't race like a dick, because karma will catch up with you eventually!

Presumably he had a good start and passed 5th and 6th on track.

As above, got a good start and overtook 6th and 5th into the first few corners

OK, just wondered!

I had a beetle driver in my race last night who thought contact was how to brake and pass. Divebombed me into turn 1 on one lap and I didnt turn in.......until he had gone flying through and off the track!

Had quite a few like it since I've been racing against SR S opponents, sometimes it's actually more fun than running away with it at the front!

I always prefer battles over easy wins. in GT6 when I race with friends, if I am 10 seconds ahead and keeping the fastest lap, that's enough of a win for me so I will slow down and let them by because fights are what I love.

As for these ranked cup races, no way am I letting off lol but the matching has been so good, I have never been able to pull away from the pack yet (Dr:B.75, Sr:S) the fights are always really close. I have only won once when I was a new Dr:B, that was about 3 weeks ago and now I average start/finish between 7th-12th, it's difficult gaining DR but the racing is awesome in the middle of the pack, exactly where I want to be.

I've had that a few times, dudes in front bouncing each other around. It's tough to stay out of it as they generally slow each other down too. But as long you can keep clear of it they usually end up wiping each other out.
