Karting

Actually I have to disagree. Chicks bare nacked mud wrestling or just generally wrestling but nacked is the best sport of them all. But karting is second best :P .
I've never tried caged karts, just the normal one's do me fine. The fastest I've been in a kart I think to this day is about 60 mph. Though I'm looking to top that :mischievous: .

I agree, cage karts are recreational crap. I've done about 155KMH in a 125cc shifter.

I'm not old enough and guess what. I'm not getting myself killed going seveeenty in an open top kart. I have seen so many roll overs. To bad for you cuz my next kart is a cage and it goes about 80 mph. I'm also not old enoguh for shifters. That is when I'm old enough.

You've....you've....you've......you've done shifters!!!!!
Gearbox Karts!?!?!?

Balls of steal!
At the last British Grand Prix for gearbox karts about 7 blokes died I think. They're sooooo dangerous. I've heard stories about how the best one's of them like have the accelaration of an F1 car.
I just want to try the next stage up of 2 strokes.

0 - 60MPH in under 4 seconds. :)

I highly doubt that 7 guys died, wee_man...

Cool, you're 16 -- right? You'd better skip 100cc's then and get a Rotax Max 125 (29hp - 0-60MPH in under 6 seconds)!

There's a really cool worldwide competition going for the Rotax Max called the RM Challenge. I've been to the 2001 World Finals in Malaysia of it. :)

Don't you want to go fast?! That's not the right attitude, MMM!

when they had a super kart race at the Adelaide GP a few years back (Senna and Prost in McLarens) the karts where going fast enough to qualify in 5th spot for the F1 race...

250cc SuperKart laptimes are comparable to those of Formula Ford's, but definitely not Formula One's.

Okay slight exageration.....
But I did hear someone did die.... . Whether they were telling the truth is another thing I'm just spreading the good word.
Yeah I'm 16 and I've been looking at arrive n drive places that hire out 100cc + karts. The faster the better I think. AlthoughI do think i'd draw the line at gearbox karts  . I've known karters who just get too scared by them. They're sooo expensive though and I've been looking into buying my own kart for years now but just no matter what I can do it's going to be too expensive for me to start racing. Plus I haven't got any real proper kart tracks near me. The closest one I think is about 3 hours away. And my dad pretty much works a lot of the time so it would be a bit hard for me to get there. Although in a years time maybe I could drive myself there.:)

Outright speed definately not, corner speed is another thing though...

Yeah, well a crappy, rough, jumping-in-his-seat driver can make shifter karts look really mean and dangerous. Which is a shame, because it takes a very fluent and calm style to drive them well.

Yeah but doesn't no brain help as well to drive them :P .

Had a scary incident tonight at work:

Was test driving a Kart that had broken down during a run with some customers, the boss fixes it, I take it for a drive (while the customers are still there)

Driving around the track I felt something strange, initially(sp?) I thought is was the chain slipping when to my horror I saw a piece of the BRAKE disk go flying past me

The thing had disentergrated itself into about half a dozen bits, the last thing you need going into a hairpin corner

I have an energy with a parilla 125. I was out at the Davis track yesterday. Tomorow its the dixon track, on firday i hope to make it out to sears point. Thats where i got into karting with the Jim Russell classes they have there
