Anyone who races karts or is interested in karts should take a look at this upcoming simulation called KartSim. It has been in development for over 5 years and has recently begun to ramp up.

KART RACING
Coming soon for the PC, with Xbox360 and PS3 versions in the pipeline, KartSim lets you race both online and offline against up to 30+ drivers on world class kart circuits. Choose a kart, choose a team, recruit other drivers and start racing at speeds of up to 160km/h, 20mm off the ground to earn points to qualify for KartSim’s Official World Championships; a biannual event with real prizes including kart chassis, engines, tyres and merchandise up for grabs!

REAL KARTS, REAL CIRCUITS, REAL DRIVERS
With the full circuit, kart and driver lists to be announced in the next few weeks, KartSim will feature all the major kart manufacturers and classes along with circuits from The Americas, Asia, Australia, Europe and the UK. Kart Clubs and Manufacturers can contact us here to discuss featuring in KartSim.
THE BEST LOOKING KARTING GAME YET
Built on the Unity engine, KartSim pushes the DirectX 9.0 based engine to its limit with superb photo-realistic visuals. With full day and night cycles, High Dynamic Range (HDR) Lighting and Full Screen Post Processing effects, KartSim sets the benchmark for PC based racing games. Check out our screenshots and videos from the game.

THE MOST ADVANCED TRAINING TOOL FOR KARTERS
Don’t be fooled by the AAA graphics; KartSim is the most advanced tool a kart driver can use to train with. Utilising real data and a proprietary physics engine written by the game’s developer, Zach Griffin, the kart will flex, hop, buck, and jack the inside rear wheel in exactly the same way a real kart does, through the use of a real-time FEM model to simulate the flex of the chassis.

If its true that it will come to the ps3 eventually then im buying this no doubt.

I'll definitely be getting this, it looks so much better than the current Karting sim out (Kart Racing Pro). I really can't wait! 👍 :D

Looks awesome!
On the video when it's sitting on the outgrid, I was thinking 'that looks exactly the same as my home track' and then it was!
All the bumps were pretty close to what they are IRL too, hope it comes out on ps3

Hey magic_town,
What class do you race in at Oakleigh? I'm Junior National Heavy on the verge of Clubman heavy. Todd Road and Oakleigh are my home tracks. I wouldn't be too surprised if they put Todd Road in the sim and Geelong as well.

Clubman light, just started earlier this year. Todd rd would be cool too.
This looks good for learning the tracks, if they include a heap of vic ones

From their FAQ page I read:
"The initial release is for PC only, however the game is Xbox360 and PS3 ready. We’re working on securing a publishing deal to release KartSim on these platforms. Interested publishers can contact us here."

So even if for PC it's planned for Q1-12, it might be a long time before we see it on our consoles... :(
If it comes out on PS3, probably a day one buy for me.

Keep on reading Fryto :)

You can actually get out of the cockpit and walk around the track!!!

And it has a industrial tire model as well as a model for chassies flex = proper simulation.

Full PC release sometime next year with consoles to follow.
Exert from FAQ
"When is KartSim coming out?
KartSim will be released during the 1st Quarter, 2012 on the PC."
"When will it be available on consoles?

Sorry to dig up an old thread, but you can follow the Online Super1 Championship (using KartSim) - it looks pretty sweet!
