Kazaa Problem

Im having a problem with Kazaa. I want to ask you guys first before I ask them just in case anyone know's what's wrong. For some reason it says Im not sharing any files, when I am. About 85 files, and they are in My Shared Folder. Since it started saying that nobody downloads. I checked "My Kazaa" and all the files are there, rated, and have discriptions and search words. Kazaa recognizes the "My Shared Folder" as the folder to where people can download from but it still says not sharing any files. I need people to start downloading from me soon as my Participation level is very low, at 5. This all started happening hwen I tried to change my Kazaa name under "Options". I changed the name and instead of clicking "Apply" I clicked "OK", then the computer caused an error and I had to restart. Can anyone help?

NO its not that. It says at the bottom that Im not sharing any files. I also have a ton of music that people were always downloading from me. I have lots of great files. I dont see what's wrong...

Nobody downloads off me! My level is 12 and what does this level do anyway?

I've unshared all my files, screw the Participation Level, whatever the hell it does.

I think it places you in priority over other users to download off if you have high level. Where as if you have a low level you have to wait in the Queue until its your turn to download.

Plus the higher your participation level, the faster Kazaa lets you download. And you can use the "Search More" button more when you search the higher it is. People where always downloading from me, and I have lots of files that people always download. I have GTA"VC stuff, music, GT3, and even Initial D...

I never say anything stupid enough or that is on a high intellectual level to be quoted in somebody's signature :grumpy:

Why Don't you save all your music in another folder. And Delete Kazaa. And Then Reinstall it?

It's a modified version of Kazaa Lite. Your participation is at 1000 all the time.

I don't share files. I formatted my harddrive and couldn't be stuffed re-configuring Kazaa. Come to think of it, I don't even have Kazaa anymore.

This is something that not many people seem to know, so I'll put it in here, now.

The Difference Between "Apply" and "OK"

When you click "OK", the settings you have specified are saved and the dialogue is closed.

When you click "Apply", the settings you have specified are saved and the dialogue remains open.

That's it, lesson over

Frustrated Palm: You say that the computer crashed when you clicked OK, this sounds like a registry/ini file corruption, and Kazaa couldn't handle it when you tried to change the settings. A reinstall may have fixed the problem.

I downloaded the highest at about 192 for half a second, regular downloads peak at about 53kb/s...I use that Kazaa Lite hack to raise my participation level.

Yeah. Use Kazaa Lite. Your participation level is always at 1000.

UM YOU FORGOT THE BEST PART....kazaa lite blocks the IP's of the RIAA and other organizations that are suing people for sharing tons of files....it also doesn;t give a full ist of shared files...you still share all your files but one user cant see them all at once.

another thing...I like to use edonkey 2000 mostly becasue of www.sharereactor.com all the files are real and they give you links to click on so you know you get the real file...they have everything but music on sharereactor. (sharereactor is the site not the program....edonkey 2000 is the program)

I use Limewire. Some people say it sucks, but its the exact same network as Morpheus. And the new version is great. WinMX is good, too.

About the not sharing problem.

You can try going to options then traffic tab to see what is typed in "folder for downloaded files" . Maybe try changing that.

If no luck, then just move all your files to your desktop, uninstall kaza, restart, install kazaa again, move files back to shared folder and you should be good to go.
