Keeping Up the Pace

With GT4 coming out today, we're obviously gonna be having a record number of people coming through the site. Over the course of the next month, we all know it's gonna grow substantially. My question is, Jordan, do you forsee bandwidth issues arising, and if so, what can we (or just myself if I'm the only one who cares) do? Should I just go ahead and upgrade to premium membership?

Used lite since mid Jan. the GT4 main page loads within 2 to 3 seconds for me and only 5 seconds even in the mighty Feb. 22 release date forum at 100 posts per page.

Id rather not switch to lite, but I disabled sigs and avatars a long time ago. They just got irritating to me.

Yes, it helps a little bit because the fewer images lighten the load on Apache. Last month, we used a little over 2.1 terabytes of bandwidth (2,100 GB's) and it looks to be about the same for this month as well (1.3 terabytes as of today). With the costs of bandwidth plus server hardware, it may help some of you understand why the additional ads are necessary.

Alright I switched to lite and turned off avatars! Wouldnt it be better though if I just leave it to regular old GTP since that way we get ads and in turn will get you $$$ for the site? also how much would you get paid if I just sit here and click on an ad? Sounds kinda fun.....welll I am bored since I thought I had GT4 pre ordered and actually didnt so I have to wait until tommorow or thursday.
Wow GTP lite is fugly compared to default!

Hang on a second... Didn't you say in a post (I think it was one of your posts )That email notifications take up bandwith?

Also, I'm not sure if text signatures use up bandwith but I'm turning them off anyway. ( along with avatars )

2.1 terabytes?!? I guess its understandable though, with all the videos and images you host here.
That's insane, you must be paying a fortune. Im at 80% of my 3 gb on my hosting lol...a whopping $30/yr.

It's been a while since I've been here I'm glad I came back.
