La Sarthe and Spa ,weather report and other " stuff "

Here is a fun test can you win pitting every lap.

The race wasn't rain free as heavy rain started at the end of lap 2 and lasted till lap 4.
Will try for a dry race.

Has anyone tried this car?
I was looking around last night, not using the wheel, to use up some of the engines I have accumulated and noticed this 700PP tune from @praiano63
I have not had time to do a run yet, but will tonight.

Lancia Delta HF Integrale Evoluzione 1991. (Engine swap) Semi tune to 665pp)

Decent car a little boring.

Handling is stable
Brakes suck.
3 laps on FM6

My setup so it may be different with another setup.

Weather - heavy rain lap 5.
No 7th lap.

On easy level is more than doable with a car under 4.00 ,( or around there ) on the hard level its difficult or not possible in dry weather at least .
Also you might pit every lap but you can skip refuel and tyres saving some seconds.
I can't do the calculation right now but the AI on hard make laps around 14s-15s .

Wrong you will need a car fast enough to catch up so you will need to be on FM1 with a car that will give you less then 2 laps.

I just gave it a try on hard got to the 6th lap and took a 15 second lead on the first half of the lap before rain I hate rain started so I quit since I want a dry race.

Its possible on hard. Its possible on a dry track. 👍

Will keep trying but getting a dry race is rare.

I was on the ferry back to home from work when i wrote it and i couldn't do the calculation.
Maybe is possible, i really don't know .

Just finished one session with RB junior , wasn't a dry race anyway ( heavy rain fall lap 5 starting 6 ) and due to a mess on first lap and a 2 second penalty i couldn't have make it to be honest.

RB junior and 8 laps is a hell of a challenge cause you must be faultless beside than fast .
Am on 4.09 faster lap but isn't enough.
Of course am on RS tyres and trying to deal with the aero and suspension to avoid the twicy back end under acceleration and one stop.

Hats off to the guy that will do it .

No biggie smoothbore.😊

Yeah getting a dry race in this race is like winning the lottery sometimes. :(

Ohhh yes , second race was great , dry with some humidity in the middle but wasn't a problem.

Settings i use

Unfortunately the last pic isn't clear but was at 34.8
IMG_20231020_193845060.jpg

I have save the replay , clear race ,one 0.500 second penalty during the 7 laps and 1 second at 8 lap trying to avoid collision but who cares then.

Enough people use RB junior for griding at this race ( mostly cause is cheap and has good fuel consumption ) but might be the first one who brake the 7 lap barrier with it .
I feel great, didn't expect to do it .

Is the recently added pre-race weather radar of any use? Recently did Gr1 at Suzuka. Pre race showed clear for duration, yet lap 7 the heavens opened for the remainder of the race. Too late for me to swap to inters :(

not in my opinion, it useless in the LeMans race

Its a weather radar from the 60min before the start to the start of the race, not a weather prediction.

It’s helpful to know whether to start on a particular tyre due to wether in the surrounding area and it’s movement across the map in the 60min window.

OK. I didn't realise that. Thanks for pointing this out. 👍

I did it I beat the AI in hard by pitting on every lap on a dry race.👍

I was able to catch the lead car just right before each final straight that way I could enter the pits a few seconds om front which only by most drop me back 34 seconds at one time.

I have the full video for proof.
Video of the final turn before pit line.

Hey @smoothbore what did you say it was impossible.

it is still useless in the 30 minute LeMans race when everyone know when the rains WILL come (at the beginning of the 3rd lap usually).

Or it could rain on lap 2 or not rain at all as what I’ve experienced.

The first lap is always dry but doesn’t mean it’s uselss due to multiple race I’ve had to make a decision on using FM to get 2-4 laps depending on rain coming in.

Sorry you’re bad at foresight and strategy, maybe look at Scuderia Ferrari for a job in F1.

Hey @smoothbore what did you say it was impossible.

🤣 don't put words in my mouth that i didn't said .
I said " maybe" it impossible but i wasn't sure .
Now that i remember , my laps with the Escudo at FM6 that was under 4.50s and under 4.40s on FM1 ,that means over 30 seconds per lap over the AI which make it doable.

Well done mate , now take RB junior at lemans and do 8 laps 😊
Search for 4.10 laps in dry track and shoot it when you face full dry weather.

Difficult......OR ..... not possible.
Which of them you need to explain? 🤣
Ok now , leave the " excuses " aside and do the RB .

Not forget to mention:
Congratulations " Billionaire " mate since you're probably the First you accomplish that 😁 .
With the one or the other way , we're doing the most weird things for La Sarthe 700 pp in that thread 👍.

Have you guys tried the C1. I had a lot of fun with that car. It is pretty fast and the back end does like to swing around to the front if you are not careful. If I remember correctly you should be to 3 laps on FM6

C1 ....... Can you give more details what car is this?

Corvette C1 58. (Tune)

Handling is ok is really tail happy but is manageable and I used it to slide the car around corners.👍
Brakes are good.
3 Laps on FM6

Weather - Rain lap 4-5
No 7th Lap.

Just did a race with the Carrera GTS

No rain until lap5., rain in lap 5 and in the first part of lap 6, wet road(mid third at the rain meter) in second half of lap 5, wet road in lap 6 and still for the most part of lap 7(in the last quarter of that lap a dry racing line started to form)

The car is easy on fuel and tires: got 5 laps on FM1 and RMs...stopped for IMs after lap 5
This car is also fun to drive, lots of controlled and controllable 4 wheel slides...

@Chikane_GTR i try the full pit race .
Had to move for 2 laps on intermediate tyres but ....
Comparing your final time with mine ,still i was 15 seconds faster even if i use intermediates.
So wouldn't be any problem to finish it on full dry race even faster .
I was on hard level and use the R92CP( was testing it before for another member ) which normally move around 3.54- 3.55 and fast around 3.51s.
I change tyres 3 times RH-Inter's -RH and refuel 2 times .

Verdict : Any car lapping at 3.55 's average at FM1 can do it .
Of course you was the first that made this " discovery" but wasn't that hard as i thought it would be in first place.

Sure even with the risk of being bored to death.

Edit -
And it has to be a dry race no rain that slow the AI down.👍

You want to " punish " me , don't you ? 🤣
Damn this one is a " pig " who needs " food" every lap .😵‍💫
facepalm-disappointed.gif

EDIT

Just try one race with it ,rain caught me out spin heavily one time and to cut a long story short i end up second 🤣🤣
I really wonder how you manage to catch the AI before final straight every time ?
I have serious doubts that i won't make it with this 2 tons " pig " and am not joking this time.
Needs FM2 for a single lap and tyres every two laps .
What settings you use ?
Did you proceed in weight reduction ?
