Ok... I'm a bit confused on the details about this accident. I mean...

How fast were they going...?
What was the area like? I saw a station, road way, and the red stop lights...
It's just one person controlling the train? really?

Anyway, this sucks for the victims/dead. I didn't realize txting in a train was more dangerous than txting in a car...

If you're not watching the lights... yeah, it's dangerous.

But if he ran a red light, he should have received a call from control, so it's possible that he did suffer a stroke... or something. I can't imagine an experienced engineer being that inattentive.
