OK, now you wonder why I'm suggesting a Samara right? I can say you why, it's not for the engine no, beacuse it's only has 75 hp and not beacuse it's fast (which it's not), but it's beacuse I think it's some kind of good looking with it's sporty style package and interior. I think it has it's own place in the GT series beacuse of the Samaras history in the motorsport of Rally. Here under follows the numbers of the Lada 1500 GL, it's the only specifications i found on the net of the Samara with the 1500 engine, maybe the "Flyte" has other specifications, if so please let me know :)

Powertrain: 1499 cc , Inline-4 , SOHC , 75 hp / 5550 rpm , 118 Nm / 3400 rpm , 5-speed manual

Dimensions: Length 4005 mm , Width 1650 mm , Height 1335 mm , Weight 925 kg

Performance: Top speed 156 km/h , 0-100 km/h 13 sec

...Wait, there's a Rotary version?
Yes. Back in the Soviet times, Lada was experimenting with Wankel engines.

Samara (2108) had a special model named 2108-91. It wasn't visually different from the normal Samara, but under its hood is a 1.3 litre 2-section rotary engine, rated 140 hp.

AFAIK, it was available on the Russian market only. This version is very rare today and costs much more than a normal Samara in excellent condition.

...It's got more power than OP's suggestion. Hmm. So this "91" model is actually better (read faster) version in every way. I guess my potential vote has gone that way, then.

What's made you think that? :) I didn't found any info about the car so if you found any please let me know :)
Best Regards
Martin
I suppose so, too, at least because this "Flyte" edition was never sold in Russia (officially, at least). So I think it was one of those special export cars modified by the European car dealers. Like this French edition by Poch:
