StarLight Garage presents the Lamborghini Asterion, a beautiful four doors Plug-in hybrid concept supercar. I see here and there similar looks with the iconic Lamborghini Miura, from that point of view the Lamborghini DNA flows to his tubes right to the engine.

Like Famine already said, Asterion is the name of the Minotaur, infamous dweller of the Labyrinth of Crete.

Like all Lambos, it's named after a bull, in this case the Greek mythical Minotaur, because, as Lamborghini has said, the half-man, half-bull beast was somewhat of a hybrid itself.

Unlike some of its ultra high-end rivals like the LaFerrari and the McLaren P1, the Asterion is intended to be not a mind-blowingly fast track car, but a perfectly nice car to cruise around in...one that also happens to have the better part of 1,000 hp.
It’s awesome, and we desperately want Lamborghini to make it a reality.

As you would expect from a Lamborghini, the engine's tucked neatly behind the driver. Considering that engine is the same 610 hp V10 out of the Huracan, that's a very good thing.
The engine is connected to a trio of electric motors that on their own are good for 300 hp. A quick math will tell us, that the total output is 910 hp, which is good for zero to 60 times of three seconds flat, and a top speed of 200 mph. What do you want more?

In between the engine and the rear-mounted gearbox lies what Lamborghini is calling an integrated starter motor and generator (ISG) which shoots power to motors at each of the front wheels. They're all connected to the car's traction control system, so they can apply more or less power as needed to help you get through a given corner.

Importantly, if you shut off the engine, you're still capable of hitting nearly 80 mph in pure electric mode—at which point the car is temporarily front wheel drive—and you can go about 30 miles without flipping anything back on.

In terms of the exterior, the car is still angular and won't be mistaken for anything but a Lamborghini. But it's also softer and more of a grand tourer than either the Huracan or the Aventador...or any other car Lamborghini has produced in the past couple of decades.

No, we're not doing this "reservation of future cars" gig.

Only cars that actually exist please.

Oh, oh ... this car doesn't exist yet so this thread would be closed soon.

Couldn`t agree more! Lamborghini is a brand which I absolutely adore and worship. And if it wasn`t for Lamborghini, I would be completely different person today.

But making a thread about a vehicle by just seeing it in a magazine, and when it hasn`t even been made/produced, is just pathetic, and it pisses me off! I don`t care if it is a Honda, or a Lamborghini.

Make a thread when Asterion has been showed to public, but please remove the thread until then!

New magazine scans with the Lamborghini Asterion concept have surfaced the web ahead of an official reveal set for October 2.

Thanks to these new images we get a better look at Lamborghini's newest concept which is believed to adopt a hybrid setup as indicated by the lightning bolt in the "o". We now have some preliminary (and unconfirmed) details about the powertrain which reportedly consists of a V10 engine working together with no less than three electric motors to generate an impressive combined output of 900 HP (662 kW).

At the moment there isn't any info regarding the car's size but judging by these magazine scans it appears to be smaller than the Huracan. This could mean the concept previews a future entry-level model which will be positioned below the Huracan. However, the company's main priority right now is putting the Urus in production so it might take a while before adding a base model.

Lamborghini will unveil the Asterion concept on October 2 during the first press day of the Paris Motor Show.

Another crappy picture, at least we see it's front now.
Actually it's 2+2 a La Ferrari FF and Porsche 911.

I think this Asterion LPI 910-4 looks absolutely fantastic.

The interior, brown fabric aside, is beautifully simplistic. Let's you focus on putting 910bhp on the road.

You know it's a sad day in the car world when Lamborghini of all car companies makes a "hybrid"

I know hybrid systems could theoretically be very powerful, but that's the thing is they're "theoretical" right now.

How is it a sad day? This is where the car universe is most likely going to go and I think we need to get over it. And it's not even fully hybrid.

Out of all the car companies Lamborghini is the most outrageous. I thought they would be the last company to do it. I honestly thought "hybrid" to them meant strapping rockets and jet engines to the car.

It was pretty much inevitable (to me, at least) that they were going to join the hybrid bandwagon. I'm not surprised one bit.

Like all manufacturers Lamborghini is starting to have it's hand forced by legislation. I understand people disliking such change but hybrids like this are beneficial to performance. You get performance you could never get from the ICE alone.

Performance hybrids are not theoretical either as we have them available in the Ferrari, Porsche and McLaren hypercars. All these technologies filter down to more mainstream models overtime.

It is difficult to be too upset about hybrids when a Porsche 918 Spyder is more efficient than a Toyota Prius.

So, the Asterion is a four door right? (Mazda RX-8 style from the look of it) Cool. About time Lambo revisited the beautiful blend of performance and practicality that was last seen on my favourite Lamborghini ever - the Espada. :)

Looks like it is a Coupé with space for 4 people. More simular to the Ferrari FF than the Mazda RX-8 I would say.

Anyways, I really love the styling of the Asterion, and the power is incredible for this car.
Just wish it had the V12 from the Aventador...

That looks a lot like 2 separate doors on the same side, which is what I meant by RX-8 style (smaller suicide rear doors) but if it is like the FF then I'd still like it because I love the FF :D

V10 is just as nice I think :D

I agree that it does look like rear doors but the Asterion is a strict 2 seater. It has LP in it's name which tells us it is mid-engined so, on that basis, where would you fit rear seats when you are accommodating a 5.2lt V10 and the additional cooling for the hybrid system?

Also, the apparent rear doors each feature 2 air intakes which feed directly to the engine and batteries. Functioning doors are not going to feature that.

The Interior Design

The clear, minimal and modern interior of the Asterion reflects the exterior design yet with a classic look and feel. Internally, the two seats are positioned higher than those in Lamborghini super sports cars, ensuring a car for comfortable every day cruising rather than extreme performance and handling.

Does LP exclusively mean mid engine?

Thanks for pointing it out, @CORRUPTEDDISC. Man I should`ve looked better at the pictures :dunce: Thanks again for the heads up 👍

V10 is just as nice I think :D

The Audi V10 is a gorgeous engine, no doubt. But the Aventadors V12 is just so, lovely and agressive!

Apparently I was wrong anyway. It just looked like a four door to me lol. :D
