The second lightest Diablo after the SV-R, but relatively speaking much faster overall! If anyone's tried it in Forza you know it has an absolutely incredible sound, very involved handling and just a very very exciting car to drive, certainly was the most in that game...but I want it in Gran Turismo more than any other prospective addition! Sadly if they do add it to the series it'll be GT7 right? Not getting a PS4 anytime soon...but I may just have to if they add atleast this Diablo to the roster!! ;D

The Diablo was Lamborghini's flagship V12 supercar during the 1990's, succeeding the Countach, and during the late 90's was sometimes seen on the circuit. It was at the Geneva Auto Show in 1999 when Lamborghini unveiled the race ready Diablo GT, limited to just 80 units and ready for the track including a top speed of 340KM/H.

It was thought that this was the ultimate Diablo, but at the Bologne Motor Show in that very year an even crazier Diablo was unveiled. Limited to just 40 units, this new Diablo was not street legal in Japan or the USA and was known as the Diablo GT-R.

As soon as it was unveiled teams were already lining up to use it in the SRO Lamborghini Supertrophy, and was seen as the true successor to the 1996 Diablo SVR with full race aero even in street form, as well as a 600HP 6.0 V12, compared to the 580HP seen in the Diablo GT.

A true race oriented chassis was created, this time with a fully integrated roll cage and a massive rear wing that was actually directly bolted onto this lightweight chassis, while the brakes were again upgraded to racing spec Brembos.

Thanks to the 600HP V12, the GT-R was capable of 350KM/H (220MPH), even with that huge rear wing, with the car running a 5-Speed manual gearbox. The wheels were also specially designed to take both standard road tyres and Pirelli racing slicks.

On the inside the Diablo GTR was also stripped of all unnecessary items, the air conditioning was gone while the passenger seat was also removed and the driver seat was now a light-weight Carbon-Fibre bucket seat with a six-point racing harness.

The standard buttons were replaced by racing switches, while an obligatory fire extinguisher system from Momo was mounted on the right side of the cockpit with the option of turning it on with a button located on the central tunnel. Also the already custom steering wheel of the Diablo GT had been replaced by an even lighter race-type unit.

Whats the difference between the GT2 and the GTR?

Whats the difference between the GT2 and the GTR?
GTR has a different front bumper, different roof intake, revised rear wing and significantly less weight. Also, AFAIK the GT2 was never sold to the public (as a road going version), while the GTR was.

I'd much rather see the Diablo SV. Pop up headlights and that sexy SV bodystripe... Beautiful! Looks awesome in yellow with black letters, white with red letters, blue with red letters, or black with white letters!

Then go to the thread for it and vote for it. We don't get anywhere if people post in threads for cars they don't want and say what they'd prefer instead.
Apologies, but the impression I've gotten from browsing various threads on this site is it's frowned upon to revive old threads with likes. I've only recently really started using GTP for things other than my home thread, so still working out the informal do's and don'ts.

revive old threads with likes
'Likes' do nothing to threads. Posts do.

The whole point of the Suggestions forum is to see what people like, so that those who browse the forums from game studios (originally Polyphony, but I very much doubt that other studios will ignore this resource) know what sim racing fans want. That only happens with Likes.

So instead of 'liking' a car you do want and contributing to that resource, you've revived a thread with no posts for 6 weeks to complain about a car you don't want...
