I don't think it looks any better than the one from Las Vegas. :(

The grille on the VII looks like they stole it from Daewoo. This one looks like they stole it from Pontiac. Neither of them are any good.

And the wheels are too small by far.

Yep, needs them whacked 18" BBS rims...And the rear wing is too small. Man, there be no help with it that small.

and now Seriously...It is a slight improvement.

Is that the one coming to North America? I read that the one coming to North America will look just like the Evo VII but be called the Evo VIII

Whatever the situation, it looks like they can't sell this in America, as it still lacks the necessary frontal modifications necessary for North American sale.

Those wheels are just about filling the arches. Those could be 16-inchers, but anything larger would be scraping the sidewalls. The whole wheel-well is improperly designed. I can't imagine that being useful on a rally: Where's the available wheel travel? And if they are 18" or so, then the wheel well is poorly designed becuase it makes the tires look puny. The entire car has far too much bumper and side skirt extension. And did anyone else notice how the front and rear shoulders (above wheel wells) is a near match for the WRX?

As for the rest of the aesthetics, it's best summed up as:
The sissy-fication of Mitsubishi continues....

Rounder, softer, taller, narrower...I think they're trying to morph into the Beetle.

And yes, M5Power, that FMI will fail US crash tests again. Sorry, Mits; strengthened bumper bar or no, the tests are at 30 Mph, not Kph.

i just want know why the japanese are making this to us.

1 the sky line;that beauty machine was changed to that ugly thing.

and now the evo V and VI are transformed to this.

i mean why just keep original look of the old japanese models.

i like the R33 and the EVO V look alot ,but that new models things are too ugly.( i mean extemely ugly ) in comparation to the old models.

We do not get these models because the Nadar lovers are Satanic in their concept of what cars should be.

I take that back, I meant to say that I love huge bumpers. I do hope more cars like like those hybrids soon. Maybe we can have more Accord looking cars.

I think we can all agree that if the car has an initial 120 hp  that we'll need the Starship Enterprise's sheild to save us from the inevitable crash when we get the 121 hp engine. You know, the zesty one!

OK, Mr. Smartypants. If I meant that, I would have called them 'rims', not 'wheels'. Cheez.

Yes they are filling the arches. But just like on the current Lancer, the arches are too small for the visual bulk of the car. They look like a fat lady tiptoeing around on little slippers.

Same with the new Suzuki pocket 'rocket'. They both need a bigger overall tire/wheel combo, to get enough meat under the car. Especially if they are going to be pumping the better part of 200hp through them.

This car just looks like an oddly done, modified Lancer VII.

I mean sure, it COULD possibly be that, but there seems to be no VISUAL difference except for the front bumper.

tape. masking tape or something. meant to hide that ever important vent or bump design, or whatever. that, or the hood is damaged.

I don't think the arches have been made too small for the car, I think the car has been made too tall-which shows when you look at the arches. What was that comment about mitsu's trend-

"Rounder, softer, taller, narrower...I think they're trying to morph into the Beetle."

..yea, that one, heh. Overall, not a bad looking daily driver, but definetely nothing special. Basically, the coolness of the Evo. is dying out..IMO. And yea, I can't wait to see what they do to it for the US model.

I like it. It looks much better than the EVO VII and also the new WRX coming out next year also doesnt have the bug eyed lights any more.
