Lancers going to the past in the US?

I've gotta quick question for everybody.Why is it that the Japanese Lancer Evolutions went from I to VII,but the US is going from VIII to I?I don't really quite get that,but I just thought I'd ask you guys for some outlook on this situation.

It was never VIII here in the US...so I guess Mitsu is just going to start the Evo here as I. It makes sense, and doesn't...at the same time.

but from what this guy in this other thread is sayin',there IS gonna be a LanEvo VIII,and right now,they already have the LanEvo VII out in the US (if I remember correctly ^_^) if you wanna see what I'm talkin' about,then check out the thread called "US Spec Lancer EVO VIII information!" at the bottom of this forum

i saw a site for order evo's and sky line's for us.

give me a few minutes,and i will find it.

well,if you wanna order a Skyline,then check out this site,but careful..the Skyline has to pass the DOT rules and regulations first,before it can be imported.and that costs like $15,000 to $20,000 last time I heard.and they keep your car for an extra 3 to 5 weeks I believe ^_^.well,anyways,here's the site if anybody is actually interested =D

I just read today that Mitsu is planning on bringing the Evo VIII to the USA. They are also onsidering building them here.

Check out www.evolutionimports.com for specks on the current Evo's being imported.
