Language Option for All Regions?

I am finally coming to the realization that it is unlikely that we (United States) will be getting GT5 anytime before March 2010. Now, if the US and Europe release dates are far behind the Japan release (i.e. 2 months or more), a lot of people will have it imported from Japan.

My question to you, and feel free to flame me if I'm way off on this, do you think there's a possibility that they could implement a language option on the disc, or even have the game follow whatever language settings you have saved on your PS3 system settings, regardless of what version (JP, EU, US) the disc is? I don't really want to spend $120 on two versions of the same game (and I would have to get the US version when it is released, I'm too American, I know lol) so this would be cool.

An obstacle I have already encountered while typing this is when the time comes for DLC, and we have the JP version, would we have to rig up a JP PSN to be able to download the DLC?

Thoughts?

Multiple languages on one disk are the norm in Europe. I buy nearly all my games in Belgium and it automatically plays them in English, which I imagine it picks up from my PS3 language. I haven't come across any that don't work like this, whereas on the PS2 it was a bit more hit and miss.

Your problem will be that I doubt they'll put any other languages on the Japanese disk (well perhaps Korean....), nor do I think they'll make them available via download.

A fair enough thread, but how is it you are only just coming to the realisation that it is unlikely that US will be getting GT5 anytime before March 2010? We've known that Japan will be March 2010 for ages now, and it's fair to say that they will be getting the game first.

As for the topic at hand, I agree with Mad Matt - I can't see Japan putting multiple languanges on their version. Why would they?

Yes then we must rig up to JP PSN...
I would like to have one GT5 for all regions, just to select language!!!👍

If GT5 released in Japan contains english, I see no logical explanation why Sony would make any delays in other regions, because everyone would buy it in Japan before official release date in their own region. Only export post firms will have profit of such deed. I bet there won't be any other language except japanes.

It may be delayed for the rest of the world due to legal issues. E.g. GTA4 had no blood in australia, or perhaps because of copyright/licensing issues.

Denial, mostly haha

sony lately because only includes Spanish versions of my country and American versions

Games released in the EU need to have a language option for all of the major countries in the EU, I'm pretty sure.

Well I don't know about that but I bought Dirt2 in german version (package and manual) where only available ingame language was english.

-> PD will not feature a Tagalog option, so I won't care that much. :dunce:

What does that mean?

I'm just sayin that even though I would have a perfectly good version of the game, I would still buy the U.S. version when it was released because I would want the English instead of Japanese, even though by that time, I would have probably figured out the way the game goes and not even need it. It's "American" of me to shell out extra money just to get it in English.

I wouldn't say its American I would say its normal lol. I would much rather be able to read the menus, car information etc. Like you can't enter a certain race because of certain restrictions, but you have no idea what they are haha.

I would like to wait for the version that comes out in my own country as GT4 had cars specific to that region in the local version. This thread is turning into the other thread though, lol.
