Drag Car Challenge!

Grab your HKS Drag Car for this challenge. (Any HKS Car.)

Note:
The Intrepid isn't included, because it is MUCH slower than the HKS Cars.


This one is a little complicated, first you must do a 400M, then the 1000 M.Add those times, then head on over to Rome Circuit. As it used to be, please limit yourself to 10 laps. PM me the results, let the games begin.

Please turn in your times by the 25th of July.
(I don't know how to do the fancy things jeff did. )

I'm interested in competing, but not this week; I have one of the original "Bugged" versions of GT2 and I'm nervous about what could happen to my save file after running 0-400 or 0-1000 tests...

Yes , open to anyone as far as I know , welcome.

Savefile corruption should be no problem when the game is loaded , you unplug memory card.
This way the game won't remember you used the test course for 400m and 1000m.

I for one haven't saved my game for 5 years now.

I've just written down the setup/lap times in notepad.

That'd be the Intrepid, I think. Turns into a drag car with the race mod.

I think (I THINK) the 400m/1000m/top speed bug only occurs when you actually fill up the records list, but I'm not 100% sure. It's better to just do as Madmax suggested and pull out the memory card once you load your game. (Great idea, by the way)

Yes, it's only when you fill up your records. But rather than pulling out you mem card, can't you just save to a different slot a copy of your game and run from there? Also, I'll try and participate here, too, and kudos to jacnob for keeping it going and attracting another couple faces.

To be honest, I didn't expect this many people to show up. I'm thinking about moving this to the racing leagues. It is a racing league and all, even if it is GT2.

I spent 5 hours at 400m and about 1 hour on 1000m and Rome Circuit together.
Basicly , all the times are based on the 400m tunes.

New challenge inbound!

Homemade Rally Car Challenge:

Make a 4WD Rally car from ANY of these models: Evo VI OR Subuaru Impreza WRX STI (cheapest model) Tune it up to around 350 HP. No more. Then goto Pikes Peak Climb. After as many trys as you feel you need (Upto ten) Then do the Pikes Peak Downhill for the same amount of time. You CANNOT RM YOUR CARS!! When you finish that, PM me the results.

Deadline is the 5 of August.

Let the battle begin!

4:41.926 total time for me in the R32

Edit: this was done in test lap mode, not race mode. So, starting from 0 rpms, not redlining.

Edit 2: in order to clarify car choices, you said '92 models of Evo and WRX STi. Unfortunately, no such cars exist. The closest would be Evo II '94 and the WRX STi II sedan '95.

Also, to be compared with the '89 GT-R, the Galant VR-4 '96 would be fair.

Finally, just to consider, the GT-R is much heavier than the Evo's and WRX's, so giving everybody the same hp will guarantee that the GT-R will finish last...

Lol. My GT2 is missing, so just buy the Vanilla Models. I didn't think this one through much, so just boot out the GTR.

In the WRX STi II '95, 4:39.527 total. Curiously, much faster uphill than the R32, but a wee bit slower downhill...
