But how and why do you think this?
The Pro is faster, but that doesn't mean the games are faster too :P
the framerate at 1080 is always stable at 60, while in the nornal in the most crowded phases it drops to 30, so the game is less fluid

If Pro can also give better "connection" (net wise) then in theory it should give a time advantage due to "better internet connection" with servers.At least this is the case when people use Wi-FI.
PS4 pro with Wi-Fi would do that compared to an older PS4 with Wi-FI.

I don’t own a standard PS4, so I don’t know for sure, but I’ve wondered if I have a slight advantage in night/low light races due to the improved HDR lighting of my PS4 Pro. Perhaps I can spot brake markers or the apex a bit easier. Probably not, but as I said, I sometimes wonder about that.

Bad connections and frame-rates wont make your car faster though!

I play on the OG PS4 from 2013 and never had any issues in GTS. In other games, such as Battlefield 1 I'll agree, as the inputlag is more important there, but for racing? I don't think it makes you any slower.
Maybe you turn in 30cm later, but definitely not slower or faster.

youre all quick to make fun of the OP but there have been cases of games where the mechanics are tied to the frame rate. but I dont think this is the case with GT sport or any other racing sim for that matter

Dark souls 2 for example, has an item durability mechanic (you swing a sword, it loses durability). the original game ran at about 30 fps, there was a PC version that then ran at 60fps which caused the durability to decay twice as fast. i'll spare myself the embarrassment of trying to explain why but it ended up having to be patched out

Just for my comprehension :
@dinno
Why do you specify the gap with 0,7 0,8 sec ? Has it been a certain race ? Have you just been slower than you thought you could be ?
What is your average pace compared to others ... and how do you know that ?

lots of older games from NES and SNES era have similar issues when run on emulators. Wasn't there a weird timing issue with GT5? i don't think it gave anyone an advantage but there was something with the lap times being off, like 1 second in the game was actually .98 real seconds or something like that?
