Have any of you that are lucky enough to own TT, compared the lap times of some of the standard bikes compared to the standard cars?

If you think you are good enough. Can you get any litre bike, R1 GSXR etc and compare it against a few cars in GT4 on a real world track.

Keep the cars standard cars as we know the race cars will most likely own the bikes around most tracks.

IS there a B-spec mode in TT?

I own a Suzuki TL1000S, please tell this bike has been includid in the game?

Thanks,

Ryan

PS

What times have you got on the Nurburgring?

Also, can you load up gt4 lap time ghost images on TT and race with a bike? How cool would that be!!

On a sketchy lap with a CBR600 (race mod) I did a 7'36 at the 'Ring, which is alright I guess, can't really compare cars ATM as I'm busy playing. I'm by no means familiar with this game yet. Gonna have a shot in a more powerful bike in a min I'll say how it goes.

thats impossible, seeing as lemans isnt in the game

Its not? I thought all the GT4 tracks were in TT? LeMans is that track with the looooonnnnng straight away. It takes like 4 minutes to do a lap in a fast car.

That is a good time for the CBR considering you are not a pro at the game yet.

Would be intersting to see what the big bikes can do.

What sort of speed did the CBR do down the straight? as it is uphill I would imagine about 155mph?

My friend has the Japanese version on the download, can't waight for this damn game!!!

PS,

Does TT have a Suzuki TL1000S by any chance? (the bike I own)

Check the bike list for the TL.

I'm going to whip up a split video later featuring a Honda NSX against a Honda bike, I just have to test the bikes to get one that can set a similar time on the same circuit as the car

nice comparison @ tiptopcream ... but Tourist Trophy isnt realistic enough yet to compare it with GT4.
the bikes in TT accerlerate waaay too slow.
a cbr 600r do a 0 - 60 mph in 3 sec and 0 -120 mph in 10 sec which is not possible in TT - in TT it need 7 sec to 60 and to 120 i dont know but never 10 sec.
TT need some more sequels ... maybe TT 3 is ready for a comparison ... but right now it need alot of improvment in physiks...

hope one day sony publish a TT - GT mix :D

yeh it does accerlerate waaay too slow. if it were like suzuki tt superbikes...then i would have more fun playing. as soon i clip the apex and get on the power...the bike feels like a car. and the front brake feels like the rear brake. no stopping power what so ever. i know its the first one...but still..come on. i'm content...something for the rainy or cold days.

To acclerate the bikes fast all you have to do is press R2 (hunch weight forward) and press backwards. The bike will want to whelle so you can either tap X button or tap the back button and the bike will acclerate hard. (try to minimise wheelie but putting as much power down as poss)

Without trying hard I managed 0-60 in 3.7 0-100 in 7.4 0-120 10.06 0-150 15.9

Have a go.

Before I begin, there is a Le Mans race for motorcycles. Have you ever heard of the 24 Hours of Le Mans Moto? Rather than the 8+ mile Circuit de la Sarthe (which seems completely nonexistant to Nürburgring Nordschleife fans), the Bugatti Circuit is used. The Bugatti Circuit makes up for less than 1/8 of the June classic. I think the most number of laps I can recall around the Bugatti Circuit is 722 laps on motorcycles. It is the first motorcycle game for PD, so I don't think they are going to go all-out right away, much like how Forza challenged GT4 in their first shot.

Usually, lap times will be faster because bikes are much lighter than cars, yet have low hp. Bikes usually have about (fast ones anyways) 140hp. You do get better control and quicker acceleration with motorcycles. Only negative is that they are easier to lose control of. You don't have fenders to save you in a motorcycle crash. Lap times will greatly differ.

I don't know if you can categorically make that statement. Cars can brake much harder than bikes can, and are able to have much higher cornering speeds - at least comparing racecars and bikes.

I think a champcar with beat a GP1 bike on most circuits.

I'm not so sure about that... :)

Bikes stop and turn faster. 150kg vs. 1000kg at speed is quite a difference. Unless of course the car has downforce like F1, in which case you are indeed right.

I don't know if they do indeed stop faster ;)

A car has 4 brakes, a bike has only 2 (3), combine that with the fact a driver can apply full pressure without worrying about stoppie-ing himself over the bars on to the pavement...

As well, a bike should be almost fully decelerated before turning or :scared: , while a car can brake even while in the turn. Cars can also accelerate while turning and while bikes and cars both spin the tires, the driver doesn't need to be careful not to flip the whole bike so he can go WOT right after a lower speed corner.

Bike vs. car vs. boat drag race

I've been searching for one of those 0 - 100 - 0 tests but have been unsuccessful thus far...

In any event, given the posted slow acceleration of the TT bikes in the lower gears I still think a moderately skilled GT4 player would beat a equally skilled TT player on a given course.

Of course, I'd love to be proven wrong though.

I see your point about the brakes, but that's putting in the pilot variable a bit now isn't it? :sly:

You seem to be in to MotoGP, so you should know that in the premier racing classes virtually no time is spent without the throttle or brake on.
They are braking to the apex and then accelerating out at the apex. That's why the Yamaha 500cc & M1 bikes were always losing the front end at the apex of the turns when Checa or Biaggi get off the brakes and on to the gas- all the weight is suddenly taken off the front and onto the rear.

You're still probably right, but I wouldn't bring in the variable of the pilot. Let's just say he/she is the best, is fearless, and knows everything about pushing the bike/car to the very limit. :)
