8 million Aussie $!!!!!
Or am I not reading that correctly..... damn!

Wow the price jumps around all over the place, 10 million at one stage.

All those big bids are by unverified bidders and therefore do not count. The last real bid was for $160,100.00. Still a lot of money for a 2 door Commodore. And if someone rips the unique badges off you can't get spares.

The auction has now ended and the highest bid is AU $187,600.00.

Not bad for the Leukaemia Foundation.

I knew this auction was coming up (read about it in Motor Magazine) and thought, "Yeah, I'll have to keep an eye on that when it goes up."

Not surprisingly, I forgot all about it... :dunce:

A nice piece of Australian motoring history, and good to see the money going to a good cause.

I hope the car is put in a musuem, or at least kept stock and looked after. If they wanted to hack it up or modify it, there were plenty of others they could have bought...

It will be good to look in 20 years and see where the car is then. Not that I'll remember that either though...

Thanks for posting this, without it I'd have missed the whole thing.
