Launch setup question

I read all these people using a first gear launch with cars such as the ACR but my question is... How do you setup the launch for a first gear launch without it bogging down as soon as you shift to second? All my higher end cars run with second gear launches and are within about .05 to .3 from leaderboard runs

Most cars over 800hp(except 4WD) need a 2nd gear launch or shortshift to 2nd so they won't run above peak RPM. 1st gear launches are either for 3k setups or lazy people who want to run automatic transmission so they have consistent times at Indy.
