LCD Tv as a Pc monitor?

I am currently running on an old CRT 21" monitor and I am looking into getting a new monitor.

Needless to say I will be getting a LCD monitor or Tv that I plan on using as a monitor as well. I`ve looked around on youtube etc but the image quality doesn`t seem to be the best so it is difficult to get an impression from the video's if it is something that is feasible for me.

I mostly play FPS games, and if I get a Tv I will be getting a 42" Full HD. I know I have to run my games in 1920 x 1080 in order to make it look worthwhile. My other alternative is a 24" Lcd monitor with an ips panel, or an 27" with a tn panel.

Is there anyone using a LCD tv as a PC monitor, and what are your impressions from gaming, any ghosting etc?

As long as your card can handle it, a TV monitor isn't any different than a computer monitor, methinks.

Correct...

I'm using a 24" Dell thingy, but should I feel the need, I could easily drag a DVI cable across the floor to the 37" Sharp TV in the living room... (It's only 37" because we live in an apartment - Shut up already (-: )

I currently use my TV as a monitor. The TV is a 40" Samsung something or other, though I have it connected through the RGB (monitor) cable. If necessary I could always get an HD video card and hook it up to the TV via HDMI cable, but image quality right now is very good regardless. I watch many movies per week on it.

That sounds good so far, I am leaning towards the a 42" couse then it is like killing two birds with one stone as I do not have a Tv from before.
