...didn't go well.
I started at 10pm with 4 Bobs @ level 34-35 in the Peugot 908 with perfect conditions. I had the lead by a few minutes when i called it a night.
Woke up & checked progress at 7am and I was 4 laps down! All of my drivers were totally knackered, and they were pitting every lap.

What did I do wrong?

Pit strategy was set to 'off'.

What was the weather like? I've heard of people having issues with the AI trying to change the tires, due to weather changes, and going back out on the same tires, resulting in them coming back in to the pits next lap, to again change the tires, and so on. Other than that, no idea why they'd pit every lap if pit strategy was off.

And next time, just give your Bobs a X2010. ;)

what level your bobs at?

i had a level 36 race the 24h of LM and he was in first place the whole time, with a 1-2 lap lead. Upped to level 39 after that race. Also use the right car!

I restarted with the same drivers at 4am in the X2010. I set the pit strategy to 50% because @ 40% the fuel ran out with 1/4 of the lap to go.
At 7am the drivers have a 14 lap lead, but they are pitting on each lap because they cannot recover fast enough. Clearly this is going to occur no matter the pit strategy level or if it is on or off.
What am I doing wrong?

This should not happen with it off.

Look, all Bobs are mental. They'll be stupid try to change to rain tires (which suck). You basically have to babysit the incompetent fools.

The biggest problem seems to be that your drivers keep swapping out every lap because they're all tired.

The solution, only use one driver. Quite simple actually, the strength and mental strength doesn't seem to affect them all that much anyhow. I've only ever used one driver and apart from him generally acting like B-spec drivers are known for, I've not had any issues. I've gotten him to win every race except the FGT and NASCAR champions ships and I'm too low of a level for the Nurburgring 24hr race. Everything else is gold.

Don't worry, they won't fall asleep at the wheel or have a heart attack, so just take one guy and let him do it alone.

Running drivers on Low health does increase their mistakes, as normal over powering with the car can counter these errors. The 908 won't be enough to get 100% win doing that, due to that one driver going to slow on low health, these low health drivers will make a new mistake its called not pitting. They can get gas and tire use wrong.
A FGT will win 100%. as will the X series cars with one driver.

The bob or bobs whichever you decide to go with WILL pit when they need gas everytime. They WILL NOT make a mistake and not pit. Turn of health and go.

No they don't, not every time when their strength bars hit low. They CAN miss their pit stop, They will drive round Le mans at 50 MPH (The game has reserve fuel to get them back to the pit) or they will start power sliding on Duff tires round the corners (every corner flashes the tires red), and If they do this on the Ring 4hr or 24hr they are totaly screwed as its longer lap to get back to the pits.

Its a RISK that CAN happen when doing B-spec with low stamina drivers and you must be aware of it or when driving equal cars you can lose the race with out knowing why.
Even a x2011 looks Stupid doing 50MPH.

I ran one level 40 driver and had no problems. He runs out of mental strength but if his car is fast enough, he's going to win.

I ran this race yesterday with 3 drivers in the low 30's and the X2010. I left the pit strategy off and didn't mess with the game at aside from pitting on the first lap to get rain tires instead of slicks. As the race progressed the correct tires for the rain conditions were automatically picked and my drivers finished something like 140 laps ahead of 2nd place. I set the car up with pretty soft springs, max downforce and the transmission set to 350mph top speed (I can give more specifics on the setup if you like). From the testing I've done that car setup has let my drivers/fuel/tires last at least 2 laps longer at Le Mans and 1 lap at the ring compared to default. When the 24hr race finished none of my 3 drivers were completely drained of strength.

Hi all

Well finally I have given the TTs a rest and finished all the online A spec races. So I have decided to finish B-Spec for good, so yesterday I gave the 24hr Le Mans Race a go. It was great fun and a huge challenge. Here are the details:

Race conditions: Raining to start with
Car: Merc C9 Race Car
3 drivers (one was level 34 and the others level 31)
Pit strategy set to: off

Started the race before I went to work at 6:45am
Got home at 4pm to find I was a 2 and a half mins down in 5th place. I spent two hours constantly hitting the "pace up" button. Half my fingernails later, I had caught up and found myself in 1st place again. Left the race for a couple of hours and came back to see myself again in 2nd place (45sec behind).

Hit the pace-up again, then the sun came up and the rain stopped: used racing hard for a bit to out last the others who were on racing medium, bad idea as my drivers spun a couple of times. Got back on the racing medium and the rest was history, went to bed and woke up to see my team had won by 2 clear laps.

:-) Now up to level 37; bugger the merc c9 race car, I completed a "competitive" race in the true spirit of B-Spec, it's the X1 from now on

oh, after playing for over 5 consecutive days, the xp credit doubled to over 5 million which was also nice :-)

I completed and won this race using the Peugot 908 diesel with no problems at all. I used the 'no pit strategy' as suggested. And had 3 laps clear on 2nd place, iirc. I never had to mess with anything. I set the tranny top speed to a couple of clicks below default, and then adjusted the final gear to make up the difference. No one could match the acceleration, and 7th gear was only necessary on the backside of the course. I did pit with 2nd place a couple of times early to make sure that I wouldn't get passed in the pits.
No need to run the x1 for 24 hours straight, IMO.

If you turn pit strategy off, you driver will automatically pit when he needs tires/fuel, but will they make a driver change in the process if you have more than one driver?

That sounds really great, could you give the setup specifics please :)

If you detune an fgt to half hp, it'll still win if its raining. All of the cpu drivers in the superfast cars will wear themselves out in the second half of the race. Thats how cars like the audi r10 get to 2nd and 1st place when its all said and done, since the R8s and Peskys will be too busy pitting in every lap.
