im force feeding myself with drift...ive only had my PS2 and GT3 for almost 2 weeks, and i want to drift like the pro's :embarrassed: i can drift like a mofo on Sega GT, as well as real life  but GT3 seems extremely tough. So here's what im doing...im running Cuda's FC3S with sims tuned to around 325hp on Apricot. I'm trying to drift on every possible turn...i do 3-4 laps, then exit and watch the replay, critiqueing the turn-ins, braking, throttle etc etc. I'd like to be learning on a wheel...but the feel of my wheel is completely different from on Xbox. it just doesnt respond the same way...so im doing it on a PS1 controller i've had for a few years, called a ProgramPad. when the buttons are fulley depressed, they dont go below the surface like on a DS2 or DS1 controller, so its far less fatigueing, but because of no analog sticks, and no pressure sensitive buttons im using the tapping technique, seems to work pretty well. right now im working on combining turns 1 and 2...im almost there..hehe.

Just make sure that the car is sideways. Also, you don't have to always floor the throttle. Balance between the throttle/brake and keep the car sideways until you clear the corner. Are you talking about the right corner after the straightaway?

Ouch, no analog stick? humm… Maybe since it's not pressure sensitive then it's not so bad. I used to drift with the Dpad and needless to say I didn’t get very far. A wheel is definitely the way to go but the analog stick is definitely a lot better for drifting than the pad. As for the wheel feeling different than the Xbox, that’s probably true and it probably will be strange switching from one game to the other. For about a week or 2 I was playing Initial d Arcade stage and then I tried to play GT3 with the wheel, boy that that an depressing experience I had to re-learn how to drive, it didn’t take too long to readjust though. So if you do give to wheel a shot don’t play SGT for a while cause it will negate anything you learned in GT3. After you have figured it out then you can switch between the 2 games, it will most likely just take a few laps to re-adjust to the game and the wheel in each case.
