Legendary Radio Icon Casey Kasem Dies at 82

This is embarrassing, but I had no idea that he was the voice of Shaggy from "Scooby-Doo!", not until I saw some status updates on the gtplanet that said "RIP, Shaggy". I honestly thought the rapper died.

I'll always remember him for his Top-40 countdown on the radio. Dear Casey, you will be missed.......

After the media circus about his health last month, I'm not surprised that when the ruling finally came down with what to do with him he passed so quickly. Truly a shame that his prolific career was essentially a footnote tacked on the end of his custody battle.

He always was, and always is the Top-40 countdown host in my opinion. A lot of people in radio today, like Glenn Beck (who started out in Top-40 radio) for example, wouldn't be in radio if it wasn't for Kasem.

Saw this earlier today on Bing news, good bye Shaggy (though he was replaced a few years ago with the live actor). And he was a great and respect radio personality, I remember hearing his broadcasts even up to last year on the radio back in my home town before I moved.

Good guy and will be missed.
