My idea is to organise a racing league with the Legends / Retro and probably extending it to Muscle cars. I would first like to know if anyone would be interested in such a league and what you want / expect from such a weekly racing league. I am open to any suggestions and ideas. Depending on interest, I will go ahead this week and organise it more formally.

The idea is clean and fair racing and most of all to have fun 👍

First race meeting

Sunday 12/06/11
Details to follow soon. Sign ups still open 👍

Count me in, big time 👍

All I'd ask is that for the Legends cars, you stick to the Legends tracks to race on

Count me in! If we restrict ourselves to just legends tracks, can we mix things up in other areas such as different modes or themes for car selection?

I was thinking to start off with the legends first. The basic format will be head to head racing once (maybe twice) a week. The usual chatroom before invites are send. There will be a points system in place, and at the end of the series the winner will be crowned THE LEGEND :)

As it is a Legend series, I agree to stick to the Legends tracks. Car choice, PI, tuning etc can be discussed by whoever wants to take part. There are many ways to spice things up. The aim is NOT to make it boring, but competive and fun. If this gets off the ground, we can do the Retro and Muscle on current tracks etc.

Hope this explains the aim of this series a bit better 👍

Here's my Lotus Cortina, liveried and raring to go :D

Matching car and helmet, sweet

St George will be proud :D

Times and days? I was thinking Sunday evenings 8pm GMT time. I know it might be a problem for North American racers 👎

I could try and arrange to make that. Noon my time is pretty reasonable if I can get some things at work taken care of in the morning.

Well Zeeco, dunno about committing to a weekly race League, it wouldn't be polite from my end since, probably, I would have to skip many of them but I would surely like to try S2U online, and it wont get better than fellow GTpeers with these lovely oldies so count me in for some practice sessions or something.;)

Count me in... haven't done any online racing but willing to learn the ropes. I will race clean and stay out of everyones way if need be.

Not sure if i'll be here on time (or at all) because of the long weekend since its wrapped around two holidays 👍

But, as usual :D, I'll join the room on time if i'm around. I really hope I can make it :D

[edit]
Just remembered, do we agree on the PI prior Sunday? I ask this because I have to settle on a car and get used to it and I haven't tried all of them yet...

Or everyone just use the same car :D

I love this game and today I'll bought DLC so count me in 👍

I'd like to sign up.

UK based.

PSN is: derbybirdy

My suggestions would be to start of with lots of short 3 lap races in class D cars to get a feel of how well the cars and tracks work on-line (are people still experiencing strange collision detection). Plus, in slower cars if there are any unintential bumps and offs it is easier to recover.

Also, is it worth setting out some basic race rules (i.e. if you cause someone to loose their place through a dangerous move you hold back unil they have passed you)? Are we going to ask that where people have mics they call out their position when attemting a pass? etc. etc.

Knowing how awful online racing can be when basic rules are not applied compared to how good it can be when they are I just think it might be worth restating them - although my guess is that everyone here knows what they are.

Looking forward to some good old fashion racing.
