Lenovo G570, charging problem

Hey guys, so I have a problem with my laptop and thought I'd post it here before I do anything else, as you guys have been very helpful in the past when it comes to this sort of stuff. It's a Lenovo G570 running Windows 7, which I've owned since mid-2012.

Earlier today, while it was plugged in at around 30% battery, I noticed that it had stopped charging, and that the power button on the laptop was flashing. When I unplugged the laptop from the charger, the flashing stopped and the laptop was able to run off the battery as usual.

The laptop is obviously recognising the charger due to the flashing light, but not charging. It's currently switched off with around 30 minutes' worth of power left.

After a quick Google search I'm clueless as to whether this is a battery or a charger problem, or neither. Any clues would be much appreciated.

Cheers

EDIT: problem solved now

Try removing the battery, blowing on the contacts and trying charging it.
Does the charger brick make any high pitched sounds?
Any frayed cables on the charger?
Any corrosion on the contacts that plug into the laptop.
Is the laptop charging jack damaged or loose?
