Hi everybody!

I am an old geezer that loves online virtual racing. Found this amazing forum and I look forward contributing as much as I can.

I will start my participation here with a rant. Sorry.

Everybody must be aware by now of how bad Pcars 2 is on consoles. I have been anxiously waiting for this release for a long time and even did the mistake of pre ordering it. I couldn't imagine that announced features would not be available at day one. Nor could I imagine that the Graphics would be that bad. I even don't care about the other endless bugs.

Being totally deceived, I started a post in the official forum with the title: "Again... another unfinished game". Although I had the merit of opening the discussion and commenting a point here and there. The thread obviously became inflammatory when pages and pages of deceived customers dropped their 0,02.

One of the mods even contributed to the flames when assumed that the game was not tested by SMS themselves on consoles. They had a third-party do this job. They trusted them blindly and were not aware of the bad condition of the game. I don't believe that Mr. Ian Bell, the CEO himself, didn't get curious about the product they were about to sell and didn't try it at least once. For me it was just a business game. They were aware that GT Sports was to be launched soon. They couldn't let GT to be launched earlier. So they did it. Apart the lack of features and overall quality, the game was released broken. Period.

Imagine that after 2 days I was BANNED for just being the OP of the thread that also disappeared. I didn't swear, offend, or mistreat anyone. Just gave them my honest perception. Other complaining posts/threads were removed. I realized that SMS staff was fully aware of the terrible unfinished product they've just put on. They were not emotionally ready to deal with honest customers complaining for its rights. Someone of their staff gave the the order to delete all threads with complaints. They needed to keep the fire low.

I think this situation is emblematic. It speaks for itself. I hope that in this forum we will be able to speak ourselves in a polite way.

Regards,

I too got banned from the official PCARS forum.

In a thread about the AI, a mod made the claim that the AI was phenominal. I said he was full of crap, and got banned.

You're going to get 3 types of responses to this.

1. People who agree with you. The game is broken, and we payed SMS to be their Beta testers.

2. People who say we should have known better, based on PC1, and video games in general. Kind of speaks to the industry no, that a large and growing percentage of the community knows majority of projects will be unfinished on release.

3. The apologists who think you're over reacting, that you need to be patient, that everything will be fixed with patches. In patches they trust.

Edit:
Probably best to leave other form drama on other forums.
Why? Why can't we have a conversation about the customer support from SMS? Many people have been banned from their forums, so the conversation can't happen there.

This forum is a place for discussing lots of things. PCARS, Formula 1, God, funny news stories...why can't there be a discussion of the conduct of SMS upon releasing PCARS 2? If it's polite, there's no reason not to. If you think there's a better spot for it than in the PCARS section of the forums, then point the way.

Your English is impeccable for a Brazilian, love the way you've grasped the slang words like "geezer" must be all the rage in the favelas

I read that thread. Ban might have been ott from what I remember of it, but you weren't exactly being constructive in your criticism.

I acted as an adviser alongside a handful of others, including Ben Collins, for the first pCars.

I got let go from the team and later banned from the forums for questioning the way cars behaved in that game.

Hey there big Alex. Nice to meet you. Sorry to hear about your disappointment. I am not aware of how bad the game is on console......... I am playing it on PC. Would you consider categorizing this Thread as "PS4" or "Xbox ? Cheers........👍

Regards,

PC2 is the only disappointing purchase I have made for the PS4. I won't go over the many bugs I have experienced now, or repeat how bad the game looks graphically, but I can't even bring myself to play this game at the moment. Perhaps patches will fix it, but there are a lot of issues and can SMS really address the poor graphics which are a big step down from the original game? Will fixing the AA make the game look more photorealistic like the first game? Probably not. Anyway, I'll wait and see what the patches can do for this game.

I got banned from the official forum for stating the sale of goods act to them (consumer rights act now) over the fact they openly admitted it was released untested by WMD and a breach of this act. It seems they think they can silence anyone. This only served to motivate me to take things further. I suggest everyone does the same. It only takes a few minutes to submit a complaint and it's very easy. Google it.

Essentially they have fraudulently mis-sold a pre-release beta as a full game blatantly in order to beat a competitor to the market that has a more complete product - GT Sport.

You cannot sell a known defective product without advising the customer that it was defective at point of sale. Sadly while this is a breach of the CRA it is not actually illegal (heck knows why). All the consumer can do is demand a fix or a part or full refund which serves no-one but yourself. There is a bigger picture to consider here which is fraud on an industrial scale.

Unfortunately "patches" may be considered a fix by the CRA. That sounds like using the letter of the law to defeat the spirit of the law. Capitalism always comes first. Cest la vie.

btw I consider apologists to be part of the problem. Lightweight liberals will be the death of humanity.

I agree with everything you said and you mirror my sentiments exactly. This is why I have never bothered to register or post on the official forums because there are too many stories such as this.

You will find this forum a much better place where you will be able to voice your opinion without the fear of a ban because you upset the ego of a developer. Also SMS do read these forums and the Big Wookie even posts here himself ;-) So no doubt your message will get through.

Don't get me wrong there are many, one eyed SMS apologists that post here and you will cop a lot of flack from them because you have the nerve to criticise their beloved game that they only see through their blinkered, rose tinted glasses.

So welcome to forum and buckle up as you encounter the wide range of opinions here ;-)

Sure. I will find out How to do It.

Everyone who says this is blind to Nintendo's ongoing practically flawless track record. Or the innumerable, vast sea of games made by smaller developers that just work, maybe with a semi-serious bug or two that gets fixed.

My games library doesn't reflect this trend. Not to knock anyone's choices or preferences, but feeling this way is a symptom of what you play. I'm tired of the myth that the entire gaming industry, or even a majority, is guilty of this.

Welcome to a forum where Slightly Bad Studios & their World of Mass Disappointment has no ban hammer! A forum where you can call it like you see it, & say that Project BUGS 2 shouldn't have been released on consoles in the state it was at launch, without the fear of an instant & permanent ban. A mate of mine has the PC version, & loves it; he say's it runs great on PC. The trouble seems to be the almost complete lack of talent SMS have for porting games to consoles, or maybe they just don't care & just wanted to make money by rushing out a half-assed version to steal sales from GT Sport like has alrerady been mentioned. Personally I lost all respect for Ian Bell when he started posting comments insulting people in the bug report thread on here. People paid for his broken console port, have taken the time to test the game & report issues, & he treats them like scum. Then he has the cheek to say, after hundereds of posts reporting similar gamebreaking bugs, that there were only 5 serious bugs in P CARS 2 & that they were fixed before release! I don't know what planet this guy's on, but he doesn't seem to be on GT Planet.

There is a 4th type of response that I have personally received.
I reported a bug, got a thank you and it was fixed in a patch.

You're lying as we still don't have a patch...

And that's what I've seen from the rational threads as well.

Hey mate asking people to be constructive is not going to help!

Please start to understand there are people who have serious issues in the games current state...

Haven't played a Nintendo since 64, so can't really comment on their track record.

My library is GT5 (buggy at release), GT6 (buggy at release), Dragon Age Inquisition (buggy at release, no idea if it ever got fixed), Battlefield 4 (buggy at release) PCARS (buggy at release), ESO (buggy at release, and after every patch), and now PCARS2 (buggy at release).

In all of those cases, "buggy" is being very generous.

So....what other decent driving games or MMOs on PS4 am I missing out on? Assetto Corsa? From what I remember, that was a mess at release. Neverwinter? Mess at release. Does Nintendo make any good driving sims?

Or he was referring to his experiences with PC1...

Which would have no bearing on the current situation. How voicefull sms was prior to release not a single word now. Not even timeframe in which to expect the patch to be send to sony/ms...

And again. People who experience issues are getting fed up with the good news show...

Nothing is more frustrating then having an issue and then someone else comes around and his response pretty much is. :

You're beeing irrational (normal reaction if you just payed at least 50€ to join a betatest advertised as a finished game)

Or

Give it time it's nothing gamebreaking. (While someone just lost a lot of points on their liscence and there are parts of the game locked behind a liscense)

How are these reactions anything but pure abuse! How is this not pushing someones buttons?

So I still love what this game can become but I'm getting more and more annoyed with the ps4rm release state as it's not even on par for a betatest... Rust was more performant in alphatest and was at least advertised as early acces... If theb people come around and are like dude I have no real issue so there is ko issue yeah that upsets people.

While I can understand your frustrations, going off on a rant against someone completely unrelated to your issues with the game (and unrelated to the people responding to your issues) in response to something also completely unrelated to your issues (a.k.a. me clarifying where @Animera is coming from) is taking it a bit too far to say the least...

Cause I'm sick and tired of the same guy (not @Animera so my apologies) acting as if everything is ok with the game and what we are experiencing should be considered normal.

That kind of behavior is abusive a'd should end. But as long as one is not very straightforward and direct abuse does not exist.

I also disagree that commenting on those reactions is a bit much my reaction to their posts is just as helpfull as their posts.

It should be about time people realise it's not how you say something byt the actual content of what you're saying that can be abusive...

And yes I'm getting more and more aggitated and less and less constructive everytime I see someone reacting as if nothingd wrong or they are working as fast as they can...

Also I don't mean this as something personal towards you. This is just my opinion on this very issue of downplaying other peoples issues

It’s a complex game with a lot of depth, not hard to understand there will be bugs at release.

You can either be patient and wait for updates, maybe even provide some bug reports along the way. Or you can put the game behind you, ask for a refund and move on. In either case I don’t get the need for all the drama.

I'm going to make this quite clear.

GT Planet has no problem with valid and constructive criticism of any product, regardless of who makes it, nor will anyone ever be banned for raising such criticism.

However we will not tolerate anyone who uses personal attacks or flame bait to try and get that point across, nor use it to target members who disagree with them.

GT Planet has always removed comments along the lines of M$ or $ony, the same remains true no matter who the developer, studio or distributor is.

This thread is getting a lock and a number of members on both sides would do well to sit down and examine exactly how they have posted in this thread and ensure they don't repeat such actions outside of it.

The AUP doesn't become optional just because your talking about a product or company you don't like.
