let's all just calm down for a minute. I understand that some members here at GTplanet are disappointed and expected more, however, just think about what we are getting here.

This video shows damage; more importantly, it shows new collision physics, and the damage can be more than we thought, at the end of the video where the impreza goes on top of the RC-7 you can see that there seem to be dents and loss of the paint of the front of the WRC.

Now, we all know PD, they have delivered quality in the past and honestly, I can't see them NOT delivering it again. What is more, I'm sure all the cars will have a cockpit view, but not all of them will have open doors, hoods with an engine in there and such (I truly believe that's what it refers to). The AI is a lot better and will hopefully impress us. The entire physics engine seems a lot better. The graphics look insane (we can all agree on that) and the fact that tyres as barriers can moved is simply awesome.

all I have to say is, take it easy. I'm sure PD will let more info slip before TGS, and if not then there. Have some faith here. In the end we all want a fun and great game, I'm sure GT5 will fit that bill!

Some people just get soo worked up on here. I mean the game still got time to get things right.

That or the demo from Gamescon could be from a very old build. Remember Kazunori said PD was trying to get a 'Big Fall Update' last year for GT5: Prologue but didnt happen? This could very well be it. Evolution Games did it with a very old build of Motorstorm:Pacific Rift demo right before the full game hits, and PD doing this would probably be looking at public/internet responses(negativity mostly) and then surprisingly everyone at Tokyo Game Show (hopefully!)

I highly doubt it is an old build.

Only time you would do that is when more current builds arn't stable which is a bad sign.

In most of the other videos, the Impreza looks completely normal with the exception of a few unhinged bumpers, doors and maybe a popped open hood (or bonnet, for those of you who call it that). I was a bit disappointed; even in the worst of crashes the damage was very clean and prescripted, hardly what I would call "deformation." This video was the first time I had seen paint scrape off the side of the car.

As far as I'm concerned, PD has a lot to work on (it seems objects either simply stay on or fall off - no dents, no cracked or shattered glass). But it is definitely a step in the right direction and there is a lot of potential here.

So am I happy with what I've seen? Not very, but I'm not down on things because this isn't the final build - PD is still hard at work on that. This is why Kaz hasn't revealed a release date and instead chosen to leave his options open. If I was him, I'd do the same thing.

Not necessarily. Note how many of the very basic things like sparks and glowing brake discs are missing from this demo, when it's quite safe to say that they will be in the final game. This demo might be missing them because they are there, but not polished and ready enough to make it to the open public yet.

I have never noticed glowing brake disc's in any GT game, got a pic of it?

Please guys calm down, don't worry about the damage system being crap all from 2 minutes of a demo simply because of a hood that can't fly off easily. We just have to wait for the, hopefully 2009, release of the game, where we can finally play it and rate it for ourselves, that's a lot of 10's:lol:

^And this game has still got time to polish up. People seem to forget that over the past five years PD was also working on Tourist Trophy as well as GT Mobile when GT5 is being made.
