I bought and tuned this car specifically for the Extreme Series German Touring Car event. I'll point out that I'm amateur at my best when it comes to both tuning and driving, so a better driver/tuner might have more to add. I'd just like to share my set-up that very easily won all three races.

First off, every available upgrade (Stage 3 engine + Turbo 3). This alone gives the car more than enough to win, and you could stop here and be successful in the event, leaving everything else stock. I personally am a fan of this car and I plan on racing it online so I went ahead and got the Racing Soft tires and and began to tune it.

The track that this tune was most effective on was Cape Ring (for me: best lap was ~2'35)... while I'm pretty sure the extra horses and Racing Soft tires are what won me the NurbNord event.

Here's what I did to get started on the tuning (this is by no means perfect, just setting a starting point for everyone to build from):

Aero: F - 25 // R - 45

Transmission Top Speed: 199 - 205mph**
**a lower Top Speed on Cape Ring might be the better direction, further testing to be done.

LSD: Haven't adjusted yet

Suspension:

RHA -- F: -5 // R: -2
SR -- F: 11.0 // R: 12.0
D(ex) -- F: 4 // R: 5
D(co) -- F: 5 // R: 6
ARB -- F: 4 // R :4

Camber -- F: 3.5 // R: 1.0
Toe -- F: 0.15 // R: 0.20

This tune is very stable for a FR machine. Before I began adjustments, the battle was against understeer, which was over-corrected by the camber/toe angles. I re-adjusted and now the car is more stable, understeer can be corrected by laying hard on the throttle (gotta love that FR power-oversteer).

Feedback and adjustments are much encouraged. This is a car that I feel most people will be purchasing for the specific German Touring event as it is readily available in the Lexus dealership. It's a beautiful machine and I'm glad I went and put the cash down for it. Definitely one of my favorites 👍

Thanks guys!

Looks pretty close to the setup and strategy I used just two days ago. All in all it set me back just under a mill and was able to complete every race first try no problem.
The only thing is, after this race was finished, I went back to the classic car race in expert, using the Lambo Countach. It was my last race in the expert category. The lv17 class car it awarded me out of random was the blue touring TT with the stupid rear spoiler. So I could have saved all the money I spent on the ISF if I had just finished the expert race before the extreme ones. ><

This car in pure stock form dominates those races. Won gold easily in each race.

Your tune sounds pretty nice though so i might give it a go when i get home and see what times it can pull around the ring stock vs tuned.

Cheers.

I am going to bookmark it too. I like the car too and basically did what you said. Got evey option and won handily. But anything that makes it better I am all for. Thanks!

I like DTM, noticed there are some upcoming hour highlights on Speed I have set to DVR. I really like the Alfa Romeo paint job, I want that DTM car next!

A Lexus (Japanese make) running in a German Touring Car race? How do they allow that?

It's a Touring Car race that is German, not necessarily a race of German Touring Cars (do you see the distinction?).

NASCAR is American, and they have Toyota competing in it. Mazda (regardless of American ownership, still a Japanese brand) is one of the primary sponsors of the American Le Mans Series.

The More You Know. ;)

Yup, I get it now. I didn't know previously that DTM allowed non-German cars. Thanks :)

Toyota competes in nascar because the Camry is 100% american, designed and produced here for over 10 years. American lemans has less strict rules about who can compete compared to nascar.

My point still stands. You could say most Toyotas and Subarus are more American than some Fords because of the Ford plant in Mexico. NASCAR doesn't have barriers to entry other than you have to be willing and able to throw down the cash--and it's not cheap!

Not a bad tune at all! One thing I've noticed watching in b-spec after tuning is the ass-end likes to swing around a little on longer turns. Wonder if lowering the rear to match the front would help...

I too love this car. I think it is one of the best looking cars in the game. It reminds me of the Australian muscle cars of the 60's and 70's. Tons of grunt but needs refinement. I was able to win the German touring car event quite easily in the end after I switched off the turbo and went back to the default engine setting. There was far too much wheel action which resulted in red tyres and smoke by lap 3 in the first race and so loss of tractability. A really nice car that needs a way to get the power to the rear more evenly. If so then I suspect that there would be very few cars that would better it.

I also used this car for the European Touring Championship also, great handling on stock settings. Only performed the engine tune +3 and upped the aerodynamics keeping the ratio (26F/58R if I remember correctly) and dominated easily. Probably didn't even need et+3. Painted mine Tiagra Green Metallic (from BMW 2002 Turbo '73) for extra bling.

Hi guys! It looks pretty close to what I tuned as well...but I didn't buy this car! I got it as a freebie in B-Spec racing! :) I love the looks and sound of this car as it goes by! See you all soon!
