Licence Tests in GT Sport?

They have been in all of the games, excluding GT5 Prologue.
With any luck they won't be in this game either, however, with the tie in with the FIA I can see some sort of licensing being in there.

...This is a GT tradition, starting your game with a econocrapbox on a test strip, being forced/asked to do a braking test.

I really don't give a two hoots if it goes the way of a dodo...

They need a huge overhaul. It's been the same boring stuff since GT1 and unless you're genuinely new to the series, they're neither fun nor realistic. They're just something in your way of the actual fun stuff.

If they're going to be getting all official and involving the FIA they need to change them so they follow pretty much what real world drivers do. It certainly isn't 0-1000m stops or taking one corner three times under 15 seconds in different drivetrain cars.

But as I said in another thread, it should also be skippable if you're not new to the series. Lewis Hamilton doesn't have to pass a driving skills test at the start of each new season, veterans of GT shouldn't need to either. We've already proven we can acquire the licenses over the last 15 years. Use the server data from the last two games to allow us to start with the required licenses.

This FIA partnership is the best chance they're ever going to get to make them worth something. Some sort of experience system. Some sort of feeder series idea. Some sort of ranking system. Something tangible to real life an actual driving experience. I think I remember Famine talking about a good idea for it a few years ago. If they don't, they shouldn't include them at all beyond just a side thing like GT5; nevermind the terrible changes they made to the system for GT6 that made them even worse.

Do it like GT5. They're there if you want to do them but they aren't required to advance in the game.

The problem with doing that is that they then loose their point of being a "license test". If you don't need the license, it's kinda pointless. They're just random challenges then. Which is fine, but they shouldn't be in a license format.

They could divide the tests into an optional lessons part and a mandatory test part. All the small exercises can be kept in the lessons part and then the test part could basically be a time trial, or a race.

Not likely for GTS I rate, more for GT7.

Needs an overhaul though. Working on a video with regards to that.

GT4 Prologue had a nice system which was like Licence tests but were called Driving School. This came with 5 sections to conquer, basically like the B,A, IA, IB, and S.

Although you were taught much more than you did in Licence. This had 1 on 1 races, Time Attacks, Slipstream Battles, Wheelspin tests and more. Yes we know GT Sport is not a Prologue but something like this or better would be great.
