License Test Coffee Breaks

So far I'm only half way through the B License tests, but I'm just wondering what gives with the Coffee Break? Anybody have any info on these? I searched and the only posts on Coffee Breaks are for Prologue.

It has a Gold time listed ... so do you need it to get the all-gold car? If not, I might as well skip it since it uses a day of game time.

well, so far i have all golds in B and A licenses and working on international B. For both B and A licenses i received 3 prize cars each and got golds on test 1-16 and also the coffee break.
 
I golded all of B and A so far and you get all 3 prize cars for each license without doing the Coffee Break. It looks like all the Coffee Break does is use another day ... but it does have a Gold time, which is what makes it seem like it should do something.

I'd say that Coffee Breaks probably don't do anything, or there would be more info on them; the lack of comments on them in GTP or GT4 seems to imply that they're nothing special. You don't get any % complete for them or any other change on your status other than advancing a day, and you can totally skip them and still get all the gold/silver/regular license cars. When you gold a Coffee Break, it doesn't add to your total # of golds, either. If you're trying to keep your number of days down, you'll want to avoid hitting "next test" when you're on the 8th test of any license, because it'll take you to the Coffee Break and use another day.

I suppose that's a possability ... after you do every coffee break you get the Polyphony Folgers Concept '05 :)

The coffee breaks are lame and pointless. Like the license tests aren't tedious enough already.

Another great example of the pitiful manual. Crap like this should have been covered. Ah well, good game and crap manual is better than the other way around:)
 
I don't remember that golding cofee breaks in GT4P gave you any car. The tests were nice, but still pointless because you didn't seem to get anything. They said that they're there just for you to relax. LOL in that case they should just put in a lap arround a race track and some ridicoulously long gold time in my opinion.

do you mean that if you bronze the license you have a prize car, then in silver another prize car and again another car when you gold the license?

i dont really remember from the prolouge but i sure they gave you a car for all gold on the breaks

Uhm, no. The breaks where just that; breaks in between the tests in Prolouge.

Personally, I found them to be the height of tediousnous. In other words, they didn't contribute to getting a car, and I would be simply flabbergasted if this has changed in GT4.

I got fooled and tried doing them for gold then I just moved on and after getting all silvers except on the coffee breaks I still won the silver car.







They are pointless fun.

No. You do not get a bonus car for the five Coffee Breaks. You don't even get a percentage for the five Coffee Breaks. You receive precisely squat.
 
So thats "Do not pass go, do not collect $200"

Sounds kinda dumb, why the hell are they in there for?

finishing the coffee break automatically gave you the car you played with bronze,silver,gold time having no importance at all.
And they were all crappy cars if I remember well..

And 15 mins of frastration if you are anal to get all gold. :)

Maybe, but my shadow driver was having a sandwich at the finish line by the time the "demo" driver finished, and I still had not made gold time.
 
This proves how crappy I am at GT games.......I've never come close to getting all-Gold, even on the first set of tests.......hell, I've never come close to getting all silver.

Man, I SUCK at GT!
