License Tests....

I personally liked earlier GTs with their 10 tests per license instead of just having 5... but what has really surprised me is the DRASTICALLY reduced difficulty level for getting gold in these tests. I have always found that working to get all golds in every license is one of the most difficult and most enjoyable aspects of the GT series... in GT3 it took me a solid 6 months before I could finally lock down the last few golds in the S license, and in GT5 I am a couple years in now and I still have a handful of random tests that I can't quite get the gold for (yet.) So far when it comes to GT6, I have had the game for 7 days now and excluding the S license ( I haven't unlocked it yet) and the two slalom tests (which I absolutely despise) I have easily racked up golds in every test. In fact, I have not had to try any individual test more than half a dozen times before easily getting the gold.

I know I haven't gotten that much better at playing the game, so this must be universal for everyone. Did a lot of people complain back when GT5 was new about the license tests being too hard? I can't think of any other reason for PD to take most of the fun out of these tests, they must have been simply giving the majority of players what they asked for right?

Do most people like the new fewer and easier licenses, or are you like me and think that they have been dumbed down WAY WAY too much?

I agree they have been dumbed down by quite a bit.
I remember in gt5 i couldn't get a few licenses, but the
S license in gt5 were easier in this the veyron is quite the bus
and reminds me why I hate it so much.

I agree most test were golds in one try except the slalom and the mustang at willow springs.

Felt they are too easy and I also missed the overtaking test of GT5 where you have to overtake for the S-license.

I actually think the S license tests this time around are really tough. They were too easy in GT5 (S specifically) and the others were generally not easy, and some pretty difficult ones. Now in GT6 all before S are rather easy and S is a total nightmare for golding. Still 1.5 seconds away from gold on the last one.

And I don't mind that there's only 5 tests, because the 5 Missions also seem like license tests.

It's not just the license tests but the entire game so far has been much easier...so far. I've only been playing since the 15th and am now about 1/3 of the way through the International "A" races. I still have to go back and finish the Kart races...just have Gold in only one race in the "B". The "Gravel" race is another story :-(

Yep the entire game seems dumbed down :( GT6 license tests are a cake wake (so far, I'm only up to IA I think). I've done what I considered the minimum in smooth, safe lines and gotten silver on like my 2nd or 3rd attempt. Cleaning things up yields gold without too much frustration, maybe another 5 to 10 runs. Back in the GT1 days getting all gold was a real accomplishments. Some were down right rage inducing... of course back then no steering wheels just tapping with a DIGITAL controller so it was ubber important how smooth you were :scared: I still curse B-3 Honda del Sol on Deep Forest :banghead: I remember a few painful ones in GT3 was well, like the ones with the classic race cars.

I agree it is not just the license tests that are lacking in the difficulty department but at least for me there are still a couple of sections that are really proving to be quite difficult (unfortunatey, there just aren't quite enough of them to possibly balance out the majority of the far too simple tests.)

All of this being said I am still enjoying the game and I AM REALLY PREYING THAT PD AND SONY DON'T WASTE THEIR DLC CONTENT ON STUPID CRAP AND INSTEAD START LISTENING TO THEIR CUSTOMER BASE AND START OFFERING THE TYPE OF THINGS THAT WE WANT AS FAR AS DLC

I think the S licenses are way too easy, it took me 5 laps to gold the Veyron. I found the Lamborghini test bfore it a little harder, that took around 10 laps. Once you drive the Veyron properly it is actually quite an easy car to get around the track. It is just about the way you drive it, it drives like no other car in the game so you have to change style a little.

That's nice.

Get yourself some fast friends, thats what I did, gives me something to complain about and accuse them of cheating 👍

Yeah whatever.... I was just giving an opposing view of my thoughts on the test. Just because you found it "difficult" most are actually finding it stupidly easy....

MOST? Who says?

I'd imagine theres many more finding it tough than easy, polyphony have to pitch those tests not to frustrate the majority, thats my guessing as to why they are where they are.

Most was probably not the best word to use as it can be taken in different ways. I should of said something more along the lines of ; Compared to tests in previous GT series games the license test seem to be a lot easier in GT6 and a lot of threads on the forum are reflecting that.
