Hello,

I guess I'm quite new to GT4 but already bored with all the BGM there is. So, does anyone know how to listen to our own collection of MP3 while racing? I know we can't modify the PS2 DVD, but is there a way to combine the engine sound with, I don't know...say your MP3 player?

Thanks for any info. Cheers.

Maybe it's possible by using Audio ports -L&R-
first go to sound setting on GT4, and make your ((sound music 0))
remove one of PS2 audio ports from your TV and let say R port
and use your Audio PC cable -this is another cable not PS2 cable-,look at the picture

to connect one of your Audio PC port( L or R )on TV R port that you remved at the first and the other port -the Black one on the picture - on your PC sound card (line-out)
open your Media Player on your PC (Real or Windows) and drag on it your MP3's music.

I hope you understand something:dunce:

note: maybe you will lost the stereo sound (music & engine sound).
And I didn't try it .

Or you could put one ear bud in to listen to music, and the other ear to lister to the game.

Just a though. I do that sometimes, surprisingly it works preety well.

try not listening to it.. I forgot GT4 ever had BGM music during gameplay... because tht was the first thing i turned off when i started playing..:)

I've seen Car-less's setup, what program are you using to get the GT4 picture onto your computer? And the cables?
Any clue on how to get it on your TV, like what shangoob suggested but with stereo.

Also, if anyone out there has different setups please let us know.
Thanks

I always run my music through a surround sound system and then just have the GT4 audio coming from the TV's speakers. You can, of course, also reverse this method if you prefer your engine in surround sound.

You can pick up a basic surround system pretty cheap these days and if you have a digital set top box you can also then listen to the radio or tv while driving.

:D

Or a set of speakers with dual inputs. (BOSE has a set for 100 bucks. Real nice ones, too.) Run one from your comp and the other from the TV's headphone jack.

I just have my boombox always on :P.

i run the R/L cables into my pc's ports-via splitter thing.

, one is mic, one is speakers and one is input>speakers.
then i run windows media player with my music, and I listen to them combined in my headphonees.

I use the cable that came with my ps2 with the red, white & yellow plugs at the other end. The yellow connects to the video-in socket on my PCTV card, and the red & white connect to the audio-input of my soundcard via a homemade splitter similar to Tulok's one below. I use the software that came with my (now ancient) PCTV card for visuals and winamp for the audio.

If you have the space and the equipment, this next setup would be better as you would be able to adjust the music at any time via the remote - much easier than faffing about with the mouse and trying to keep your car on the road whilst peering into a tiny window in the corner of the screen.
