I stumbled across a race car that I had never really paid attention to this morning, and decided to go home and save before I did because it might turn out it is worth the 1,198,000 bucks for it. Yes, it was the Lister Storm V12. All in all, I think that this car deserves a bit more than someone saying, "Aw, that's just the Lister Storm. You don't want that!" or "Pfft! That's definitely not worth the money!" I tested it out on a number of tracks fully-modded and found pretty good results.

Test Course: Top Speed 223 mph (without different settings besides gear ratios) and that wasn't bad; at least I thought so.
Midfield: Ran a 1'09.xx lap and I thought that wasn't bad, tried again and I managed to get it down to a 1'08.xx lap.
Problem: Tire wear is what gets this car down to its level. The normal T5 tires that it comes with wear out quickly; they wear out around lap 4 on Laguna Seca. I was racing it in the Amateur League, and found that lap 5 was ridiculously difficult because I knew I couldn't pit and I had to keep ahead of the Castrol Supra 3 seconds behind me. I knew on Grand Valley, Tokyo Route 246, and some of the other longer tracks that it would not cut it.

My conclusion has to be this. If you win the car, keep it if you don't need the money, but sell it if you are desperate. It is worth keeping, but not if you are down to 100,000 credits or so. I reset my game after buying this and decided not to stick with it.

The problem with the Storm in GT3, is it's meant to be a race car, but it's specs are the same as the road version, the fact that you can't reduce it's weight to 1100Kg's like the race version irl is, is what kills it.

DOH! Forgot to mention that... It does sound awesome. It comes close to the GT40's sound (in coolness, that is).

live4speed - I know what you are talking about. That really does bring it down.

Yeah. I definitely would have kept it after all that work. Isn't the Trial Mountain Endurance Race the longest because you have to use a normal car? Or no, wait, it is the Tokyo Enduro. Ah well, whatever.

(Nice avatar, ceiling_fan! Hilarious!   )

I bought the Storm once. I just wanted to see what it was like, but I didn't like it very much, so I sold it. It seems slower than most race cars, and heavier.

Because it is heavier, it has the same weight as the production Storm ion the game which is wrong because the race versions had around 1100Kg's.
