Hi guys, please refer to the guide below...

At the Test Course, in a Mitsubishi GTO Twin Turbo - it's a familiar memory in Gran Turismo 1. The GTO, long famed as one of the most powerful cars in that game at 930bhp, became a fan favourite in the game.

Since then, only Gran Turismo 3 has been able to beat that figure - the 3000GT there peaking at over 1000bhp. But somehow the essence was never the same, with the more hardcore GT3 physics engine compared to the loose and wild GT1 engine.

GT6, though, has managed to beat GT1's scale, hitting 958bhp with a full tune. And that's before you bring in the question of one 100,000 Cr. Nitro Kit...

With the touch of R1, at 70% power boost, you now get 1628bhp. Not much more needs to be said on that subject. Except that this car will break 300mph with that much behind it - and this is not even a top speed tune.

Indeed, this 3000GT has been tuned in an attempt to at least try and make sure it stays on the road. Some wild settings were required, but it works alright. You can not only power past allcomers without question on the throttle, but you can also maybe keep it on the road as well when you aren't.

It's a true throwback to the glory days of Gran Turismo 1 - all it needs is an RM livery.
Unfortunately, I'm having great difficulty matching the transmission numbers provided in the tuning guide. I've bought the Fully Customisable Transmission Kit and I've set the Max Speed to 273, but I can't set any of the gears apart from Gear 6 and Final Gear to the correct numbers. I would really appreciate some help so that I can find out why this isn't working for me. Thank you very much in advance!

Can you link the tune? He may have done an "initial final gear" which is done before the top speed.
Edit: didn't see the text on the picture.

Have you tried messaging the tuner? Transmission tuning can be tricky to follow if they don't explain exactly how they reached the figures

Yeah, I didn't notice the text on the pic when I posted. What you could try is setting final gear to max right and then set top speed.

I have posted to him directly but I wanted the input of other people as well, just to see if I could fix it that way.

Fair enough, you might get lucky but I'd imagine your best bet is waiting for the tuner to get back to you. As I said before transmission tuning is tricky at best without clear instructions, I can't see any pattern or conventional tuning style there.

You could always do the trans yourself, a basic set up is pretty easy to put together.

Uninstall/Reinstall the trans (important)
Set the Final all the way to the right
Set the Max Speed all the way to the left
Adjust final to set max speed (Smaller number = higher speed)

It won't be perfect but it will do until the tuner gets back to you

Actually, you only need to uninstall/reinstall a transmission if you are using the original final gear. If you are doing what @DolHaus is suggesting, starting with step 2 is fine.

I've just tried that, but no such luck. I've also tried setting different final gears first, setting the max speed to 273 second and then trying to match the gear numbers but could never get a perfect match.

This is really strange, I'm sure I've bought the correct car model and I've upgraded all components as instructed. I just can't figure this one out. :\

Maybe you should try removing all power parts, make sure the power limiter is at 100%, uninstall/reinstall the transmission and follow @C-ZETA instruction from here.

Oh! Another thing to note is even though I have bought the best possible upgrades, the car has only reached 623 PP and 913 BHP, when according to the tuning guide it should be 630 PP and 958 BHP. I'm really confused. D:

Do an oil change in GT Auto (+5% power)

Do an oil change in GT Auto (+5% power)
That did it, the performance stats now match. Still no luck with the transmission settings though, the closest I can get them is:

Max Speed: 273 mph
1. 2.360
2. 1.656
3. 1.208
4. 0.953
5. 0.720
6. 0.575
Final: 4.155

Hopefully I'll get a reply by the original tuner soon. Thanks for your help guys, I really appreciate it. :)
